Chinese Mini Skidsteer Purchase, First Service, Fixes, and Regrets
I bought an AGT CRT-23 at auction. It came with some issues I was expecting and a lot of problems I wasn't.
In this video, I pick it up, perform an oil change, grind down the track idlers, repair a damaged panel, and diagnose some hydraulic issues.
In the end, was it worth it? Time will tell!

What Size Mini Excavator Do You Need? 5 ton vs 8 ton Comparison

Day 1: A Bobcat e50, 12,000 lb mini excavator Day 2: A Bobcat e88, 20,000 lb midi excavator In this video, I'll walk you through my experience with each, show you what they were able to accomplish, and talk about which way I'm planning to go with my own excavator purchase.

Been seeing alot of those machines with failures where the hull bends at the drive motors causing it to throw track fix is to reinforce the frame where the drive motors are some versions (track assembly and idlers being removable on some of these) you remove the track assemblies and add a 1/2inch reinforcing plate both inside and out, tapping and installing thread sets or helicoils in the motor mount holes in all 3reinforcing plates

A Bit later the owner / boss saw me emptying the trash out front in the show room area. He asked if (I) had a moment to step into his office - DID I REALLY have a Choice in the matter ? He asked me NOT to repeat what he was about to say directly. He then DEEPLY APOLOGIZED for the CRUDE and RUDE Manner i had been exposed to earlier on this day of VOLUNTEERING there. Perhaps, until some other time ( NO ONE KNEW ) May never re-occur going forward that would be detailed later for some. As the afternoon wore on. Once again the Owner / Boss caught doing the stuff being asked. He wanted to THANK ME for Doing such a Good job as a (Fill - In) on that day. Questioning had I gotten enough to eat ? YES YES ( THANK YOU ) i replied gladly. Reaching into his pocket almost like a Person does with out even thinking just for a place to be comfortable. What he retrieved was a Some Cash and Coins. Then handed it to me without ever counting any of it. MY Pay for a JOB and Successful Completed days activities. Thankfully without further issues from the ole timer. Then I was informed. I've got the same machine, paid $5,500 Canadian (taxes/fees included). I've got 50 ish hours on mine, using it commercially and so far its made me over 5 grand. The machine isn't perfect but it's certainly not bad for the price. Add some reinforcement to the tilt cylinder bracket cross member, I broke mine with the pallet forks and a massive bucket I use for mine. Add some counter weights and you'll get well over 1200 lbs lift capacity, the travel speed isn't that bad honestly, I use mine all day long on jobsites and it's fine, not that different from an MT85. I set my track tension so that it sags 3/8 inch at the middle most roller, no issues with tracks coming off since I set them. I'll be doing a few upgrades to mine over the course of the winter, better fuel filter system, inline hydraulic filter, adjusting hydraulic pressure at the valve bodies, finding a way to make the rollers take grease easily, adding a couple hundred pounds of counter weights to the back etc. For me, the thing was worth every damn penny I paid for it. I got the standard bucket, massive 4 ft bucket off a full size skid steer, brand new kubota pallet forks and an auger with 3 bits plus the machine for $8k all in. Not too bad considering a bobcat MT100 is over 50 grand here.

The only advantages were it was a little cheaper and I can tow the 6 ton ex with a SRW truck and without a CDL since total weight comes in just under 26,000. @offgrid101 I have had the Cat equipment before. They are very good just pricey for parts and repair. Warranty is not the best either. On the positive side if a Cat breaks you can get a replacement part right away through their network. Kobelco is a Japanese brand that makes precision equipment that is highly reliable. I have not had any issues or breaks since using them. The cabs are spacious and heat / ac keeps up in the coldest or the warmest months. The hydraulics are strong and powerful. My father himself had a Unimog of this series for agricultural use, which I often drove here in Germany. The split gears work best if you use the clutch twice. So depress the clutch, main gear to neutral, release the clutch, depress the clutch again immediately, split gear in, main gear to the next stage and release the clutch again. It's a matter of practice. Important: always shift with the clutch. Just like your truck drivers in the States drive, shifting up and down with the gas pedal without the clutch, that doesn't work with the Unimog. The transmission is not designed for this. Have fun with it.
