Thanks for sharing bro! We are looking like we're heading for a crazy year...
I would say- if for $60, this works, then great. Personally, I'd mount the camera vertically, or find a way to do so, as makes controlling the camera more normal, and ensures that the drains on the camera work as intended. Personally, I'd be considering the future, and going with Reolink or Eufy or some other brand name that also has a home hub/base station.. Security wise, I'd place ANY security camera or IOT device on the Guest WiFi with Guest Isolation enabled; best practice to protect your home network. I'm hesitant to load apps from just anyone or just any brand onto my personal phone; but that's more of a me thing.. To be fair, I used a similar camera for the past 3 years for front door security, and it worked fine; brand name was ieGeek, and it was still working when I replaced it. It's purpose was to keep the 2 legged critters away... Cheap: Yes, cheap solution: But if you want dirt cheap, forget the PT /PTZ functionality and buy a couple of $20 non-point and tilt cameras which will do the same thing; Actually, logically speaking, I'd prefer to put cameras so that the fields of view overlap and captures a much wider aspect of action; being too close to the action means that you'll have blind spots; and a few stationary type cameras pointing in from the corners will capture more and miss less .. Such cameras are usually more rugged... For the scenario of protecting the coop, the alarm sounds like a good thing, as well as the lights.. For the sides of your coop enclosure, have you considered using a longer board with perhaps numerous long screws or nails that are on the bottom of the board penetrating underneath; sort of a reverse pungi board for those creatures that like to dig ? Or some other measure for keeping the creatures from digging under the enclosure ? Or is the board itself enough ?
Really great insight to the overlapping fields of view and the way you utilize the guest wifi, great points! So for the coop, we currently do not have an active predator harassing the chickens, however we do have a opossum that likes to snack on the chicken feed. Opossums are able to compress their rib cage, much like rats and mice, which enables them to crawl through a very small hole. My biggest concern is raccoons, but right now we don't have any. It would take some digging for a racoon to use a opossum hole, which would help us know what is in our coop. I would use something like you describe as a deterrent once we start seeing signs of racoons or foxes. The board works really well for identifying marks and new entry points and is decent deterrent of larger things FOR NOW. We also move the chicken coop every week, which means the predator would need to do more work, couple that with our locked coops and doors, the predators have to do a lot for a meal. Also congrats! Your comment will be posted in the top comments of the next episode!
Love your set up, my goal is to emulate this someday. Keep those chickens safe!! F*** that possum!
@@MichaelFluri thank you! We try really hard here hahah
gorgeous
Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy the video! Just a little insight for the video, this hunt was conducted with the rifle that I have been building on this channel. All the ballistics, sight in, scope mounting was done by me using what I have been showing on this channel!
I've the same Walk in run , I live in Seattle Washington. How you deal with Rats ? Because Chickens draw rats and the rats will build a Walmart in your crawl space . I love my Chickens and after seeing rats in my Chickens coop now I'm planning to rehome them .
So we are fortunate in that we have mice but no rats. Here is what I do. I take all of my food and put it into something that is hard plastic for storage. This will keep the rats away from your house. This has worked for years for me both in Colorado and in Virginia. As far as your coop, I would try to minimize the amount of food that is on the ground near the chicken feeder. That is normally what draws the mice and rats in. Also, try to eliminate spaces where they can nest. That should help.
@Hometohomestead633 Thank you for the detailed reply appreciated.
@ No problem! Really happy to help!
Grow your own food for sure. Even if you dont have alot of land or any land you can make it work even with planter boxes
Or could just live somewhere walkable lel it seems like you hate your commute, not necessarily the grind itself
Got a funny story about a farm boss…

Is that blue water container is DIY , If so can you make a video on it how did you make it ?
Hello! Yes it is! Here is the link to the video you requested : th-cam.com/video/_LE3Ml2bDl4/w-d-xo.html It is made by using the Lil Clucker water cups. Which can be found here at their site: lilclucker.com/
@Hometohomestead633 Thanks ..... Which state do you live ?
@ we live in Virginia
Yesterday we were esembling ours one and we stuck in door because the joint wholes are not in correct place, you can say all wholes we drilled again . That took us 4 hours and still we didn't put the wire yet . Hope we can do it today or tomorrow , depends on the weather conditions . When the rain stops .
I'm having the same problem. With the M2 screws on the door frame? I'm confused on how we're supposed to put the screws in with no holes...
hey guys sorry for the late reply, just getting back from the field. So here is how to do it, you get a drill and use an attachment that lets the screws be drilled in. Those screws are self drilling (supposedly) but they will def go in with a drill with little effort. Hope this helps!!!
Hey Shine, I hope the answer I gave Sharkeful helps!

Leveling your scope by eye balling it is NOT how you install a scope, your scope being level is one of the most important things that goes into your rifle being accurate
