Back when Vegas was fun.
Yep thats crazy 🤪
Love the double down
Stayed in the room nearest the big sign, back in the late 80's, when I bought my XLT 1200, and wanted to celebrate, on a sold-out weekend, with both Helldorado Days and the Grateful Dead playing at the Thomas and Mack. Hippies and Cowboys everywhere! Still had a ball, and yes, it was fairly wild there, even back then.
1980s....What a great, Grateful time to be in Las Vegas.
These motel rooms were rented by the hour !!
Very nice
Very entertaining and fun to watch. The Skyjump is so cool and I loved it. Nighttime is scary but awesome too. Thanks for posting this.
Kind of an odd leftover from the old days. Surprised they left a three-story set of buildings on the strip for that long. Seems like a waste of precious real estate.
It was kind of honorable mention for the Strip since there's not many structures that are still standing from the 1950s era.
Freaking lot lizards going into peoples neighborhoods to kiss their hustle chumps are such losers.

Will miss it !!!!! If ownership knew what they were doing it would still be thriving !!!!!
SO SAD !!!! I stayed there MANY times. They used to have a great buffet that looked out over pool with waterfall. Then they get rid of Buffet & Waterfall & live animals on walkway over pool area. So fewer people come to your Hotel / Casino. Used to be a place everyone liked to come to, and owners MESSED IT UP !!!!!!! It pisses me off
Yeah, locals are upset about losing this iconic hotel.Theres another spot, on the other side of the highway, that would have been perfect for the stadium.
The Tropicana is the most plain and boring looking casino in Vegas. I know people have emotional connections to it, but it needed to go years ago. It was so dated. We walked through in January and it is very nostalgic, but just worn out. It was stuck in the 70's in design. I hope they save the big stained glass ceiling lights fixture. It's the most remarkable thing about the old building.
Cool find!
❤
OMG !!! I will miss that place. Stayed there many times when it was hopping !!!
Me too, no one wants the Tropicana to be demolished, part of the original Las Vegas.
Almost got ran over many times there with all the car traffic coming and going !! sad to see how it was run into the ground. Pisses me off !!!!!!
My poor Tropicana !!! Used to stay there all the time. Then they changed the pool & took out waterfall, got rid of Buffet, got rid of birds and snakes that were in long walkway going to pool area & buffet. They take all the neat stuff out and wonder when people stop coming. Same with Rio !!!!!!!! What morons run these places into the ground
You sound like daniel johnston hahahaha
I've been there. This structure looks a lot like some of the stone "chambers" from New England. Can we be sure this is from the CCC?
A couple of things. The shelter is a few 100 feet from the dam. Plus, there are nails on the side of the wood frame that indicate a door was on it at one point.
They put some wood supports in the front in the 1930s me thinks.
can you imagine the amount of wasted time that took to build...No one had heard of tents ???
a tent? in a hot desert? can you imagine the time you've wasted not knowing about tents and 120 degree temperature? :)
probably took them a few months to build the dam, they might have used the shelter to store tools, equipment, maybe even slept in.
KOOL.
Did you hike all the way there? I'd really like to explore this part of the mountain.
Yes, not that hard to get to. Leave the Strip, head East all the way to the mountain's edge. Sharp rocks, the bottom of my tennis shoes looked like I walked on razor blades, all shredded up. Wear hard soled shoes.
That would be hilarious if you were really yelling at the mountain. Just totally vent all your anger and frustration at the mountain and wait for its response.
You're right,....yodeling more appropriate
Very cool! You find some cool little spots.
Really good film
😴 "promosm"
I vividly remember this scene from my childhood.
I recently saw the film for the first time. Just blown away by that stunt. Those rocks flying could have caused serious injury.
That sign makes a crazy noise, like some sort of mechanical flight machine.
I like that ceiling fan at 0:28 I need one like that ! These sensitive kids nowadays gonna come unglued if they see the Big Brave pinball machine!
I watch this film on the first Friday of every month with a large whisky sour. One of the best and most underrated robbery films of the 60's. Gary Lockwood so cool, Elke Sommer so beautiful. Glad to find another fan. See my clips too.
Great view!
The lifespan of a Vegas casino is slightly longer than a mayfly.
Beautiful sound!
Good times hiking with you at this spot!
What a sick spot. Where is this?
Near Las Vegas, an old mine thats been abandoned for years.
Amazing how quickly it starts
It's ok. It was just an endangered California condor...
It's amazing, isn't it
It's amazing how the left can stay silent. But if one Duck lands in a tailing pond, the world comes to an end .

Very cool I used to live in big Redwood Park as a kid and that tree was legendary back then and still is
How did you find out about this tree?
Hello, I found it in an older hardback book. Santa Cruz County: Parade of the Past by Margaret Koch . There was a photo in the book with the author next to the tree with her VW bug. When we drove up there, we had to ask the locals on the road for location, not easy to find.
For those who work in San Francisco, it's good to live there? how long away to San Francisco?
2 hours from SF.

Hello there, sorry for bothering you but could you please tell me what's your take on the comuna of Puente Alto with regards of crime rate, good schools nearby and the such. I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil now and I have considered moving to Santiago with wife and 3 kids...I work online so that wouldn't be a concern as long as I have good and stable connection at home...I know Puente Alto is not the best neighborhood in Santiago but with the money I have for a home (about 140,000USD) I don't think I can afford a house with at least 3 bedrooms in the best barrios...I appreciate very much any advice you can give me on that matter...thank you.
Hello Gilberto, Thanks for seeing the video. My advice as to Puente Alto or not, I would say NOT. Punte Alto is the largest communa in Santiago, with some of the worse schools in the city. I would suggest moving to La Florida, Providencia or if you have the funds, Las Condes. Better schools, less crime, cleaner in general. Good luck!
