You & the Atom Bomb - Baby It's Christmas (Christmas) (Edit)
Credited as "Yule & the Advent Bomb" for a free festive CD-R with 19 other Bristol groups from 2006.
I love this track, and everything the group put out (pictures of their two mini-albums and two singles are in the video), but I can't bear the cringey comedy Santa outro so I chopped it off.
Bass and vocals - Jean-Marc de Verteuil
Keyboards and vocals - Suzi Gage
Guitar and harmony vocals - Brian Mackay
Drums and harmony vocals - Ieuan Pearse
The Spirit of Things, their second mini-album, is on TH-cam legitimately here: th-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_kYqAmbj-XYjtNSrrBa2hJ5xgVz1HhoVrw.html&si=e9UgRM4tjQSHpU8j

Recreation of the Vertigo records 7" [6147 012] 'Highlights from the album Autobahn' edit. There are at least 3 official 7" edits of Kraftwerk's mammoth 24 minute opus Autobahn. I only knew of 2 until today, when I read about a 4:30 edit which was released in 2019 for a music magazine. (Maybe there are more that I don't know of. Tell me if you know of any). I will refer to the two original edit...

Simple Minds - Promised You a Miracle (Extended Mix - Extended Intro)
มุมมอง 598ปีที่แล้ว
New Gold Dream by Simple Minds has four singles, only one of which got an interesting 12" mix (Someone Somewhere in Summertime), the other three sounded like unedited longer versions that were cut down for 7", LP and 12". The 12" mixes of Promised You a Miracle and Glittering Prize are really just extended outros. In both cases I wanted some longer instrumental passages because the sonics of bo...
Sparks - When I'm With You (Plagiarism Version 3% Slower)
มุมมอง 146ปีที่แล้ว
Unsure why Sparks chose to speed up their re-recording of their lanquid but danceable 1980 disco hit. That's what it really sounds like, like they recorded it slow and then remixed it faster. It's kind of thrilling but a bit rushed too. I decreased the tempo but not the pitch by 3%. To get it to the same speed as the original (about 5-6% slower) is defeating because the vocals start to sound st...
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - La femme accident (7" Remixed Version)
มุมมอง 350ปีที่แล้ว
For some reason OMD decided to go to town on their light and delicate single La femme accident for it's 12" mix. I've never quite understood what they were going for, Allmusic calls it a rip off of Duran Duran's Wild Boys ("WILD BOYS!"), which might even be true. I've always wondered what OMD were thinking in the mid-80s, they produced a succession of 12" mixes with huge drums that batter the l...
New Order - Blue Monday (Original 1983 Version 7" Edit)
มุมมอง 1.8Kปีที่แล้ว
One of many 'myths' surrounding Blue Monday is that it was never edited. Certainly at first it wasn't, and it didn't need to be either, it never lets up with new tricks and surprises along the way, even at the end where New Order layers as many synth lines as possible, it holds your attention. BM was edited though, there's an edit, which I think is from Japan which does a pretty good job of hac...
New Order - 1963 (Original 1987 Version 7" Edit)
มุมมอง 833ปีที่แล้ว
I love the unique edit of 1963-94 that accidentally appeared on the New Order Singles compilation in 2005. It's such a better edit than the shorter edit that the label went with on The Best of New Order . The difference is that the shorter edit omits the climatic "I just want you to be mine" bridge. Unfortunately that 2005 compilation was brickwalled to hell, and stripped the track of all of it...
New Order - Sub-Culture (Original LP Version 7" Edit)
มุมมอง 286ปีที่แล้ว
John Robie's remix of Sub-Culture is extremely divisive in the NO community. To this day there's no consensus, people love or hate the mix, but the general feeling is that the original album version is better but marred by Barney's out of tune vocal. He's not a good live singer, but on record he's usually dependable and distinctive. I'm a fan of his singing style. Apart from turning in an OTT m...
Change - If You Want My Love (Edit)
มุมมอง 255ปีที่แล้ว
The eighth song of my complete re-edit of Change's 1985 album Turn on Your Radio. Although the album is their weakest, and contains only one classic (Let's Go Together), it's full of good tunes. I love the album but I really think they ran out of money to finish it, and chose to repeat choruses and verses over and over to pad out the album. I've cut about 5 minutes from the entire album and it ...

One of the Sparks’ most beautiful song ever . So happy to have kept the LP ! ❤❤
I always click on videos with little views I always feel so bad for them and I respect your work :)
Thanks! I used to get more views, but I don't mind. I just want the few people who go digging to find something quality.
What a lovely piece of art
Classic ❤
Superb job 👍👍👍
Probably the best Electronic track ever.
Deux genies ❤❤❤❤
Album 1994 éternel .Depuis 1979 que je suis mordu des 2 frangins ❤❤❤❤
Fabuleux ❤❤❤❤
Interestingly - on the current tour (2024 US Tour), this is almost exactly how they're playing This Is Hardcore. Pulp agrees with you!
Such a fantastic remix. Thanks for creating the edit version!
The bass solo at the 2:57 mark is so groovy!
Its funny how sometimes I just want to hear the clean version (less movie samples e.g. this version here) and then there's times when I want the version with all the samples. (Good Bad & Ugly, Fistful Of Dynamite, Fistful Of Dollars)
A masterpiece.
This is the version they put on the vinyl re-release.
I didn't know that! I'm surprised by OT's needless changes to the original album, but the original is always there so I suppose it doesn't matter
Total beschissen 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
The best remix of this song!
Probably the best summer song by any British band. Great song ,great remix 110.
Yea the singles release is based on the 94 version the 2005 singles not the reissue. Which I wish we got a better quality 94 extended, two there are several differences between 94 and the 87 release. At least in the versions the vocals are more distant and sound like he's in an auditorium in the 87 version where as the 94 release sounds like he's talking to you and his vocals have been narrowed down. In the 94 release there's subtle instrumentals at to it, subtle ticking in the left channel. Deeper guitars and slightly faster vocals as they are different from the other versions he sings, the synth in the 87 version are more standout in the 94 version. Truthfully of all the versions of 1963 I listen to I love the 94 dance version way better even though it is compressed to heck, I ordered the version of singles 2005 and got it. Maybe AI can remaster it someday. I ordered that along with the UK version of the best of for the 94 edit of true faith.
I never listened so closely before, but I swear I can hear two guitar lines, one is doubling the high synth stabs and the other (or is that Hooky?) is picking along with the bass
Muito bom .🎸🎸👏👏👏👏
Thank You WHAM! This Remix Version Iz Dope Itz Been My Favorite Since It Aired n Still Til This Day, R.I.P George Michael 🙏🏼❤️
This is awesome. Thanks! Tiny (I think) correction for the description: the edit that appeared on the 2005 Singles release is based on the original 1963 ('87), not 1963-94. I listened to them both closely and that's what my ears are telling me. So, even better that yours too is based on Substance, basically fixing the dynamic range issues while working from the same original track that the 2005 version was edited from. I also agree with you, the shorter edit keeps the tension up at the end of the song. (Update since original comment: I think I'm actually mistaken here, and the 2005 edit is in fact based on 1963-94.)
That's a really good observation. I'll have to listen again to see if you're right. 👍
@@Isi-1975 I'll be curious to hear what you find! The audio mix differences between '87 and '94 are subtle, and comparing a different part of the song since I commented, I'm no longer as confident in my findings -- I think the tell is in the chorus, in '87, there's a bit more reverb on his vocals that I don't hear in '94...or the 2005 Singles Edit. So I might have been wrong. In any case, I like your edit. Let me know what part of the song you think indicates it most clearly!
@@ivanx_nyc I think the big question is whether the huge sound of the 2005 edit is down purely to massive compression of the 1987 original, or if the clean sound of the 94 remix was compressed a bit further on the 2005 mix. I've wondered for years if there really was more than one edit done of the 1994 remix. But given that a unique edit of the Confusion rough mix also appeared on the Singles album, I'm leaning towards thinking you're right, and London Records simply went back to the original and did a new edit, but went overboard with the compression. That singles compilation was a record company cash in and the numerous issues with it suggests it was a rush job, especially coming so soon after Waiting for the Sirens' Call
I think for me the differences are found in the kick and the snare. It sounds like there's a lot more space in the mix in the 87 version to hear the tone of the kick and snare. The snare is also very mid-80s, the 94 mix sounds a lot richer, and this richer sound is present on the '05 mix. I thought I could also hear more deep synth tones during the chorus on the 87 version, but I think they're present in all mixes, again the 87 mix sounds the least compressed.
Is this 7" mix official or you made it?
I made this. Recently an official 7" mix has been released. It's not that different to mine. But has much better sound quality
@@Isi-1975 thanks for the reply! Yours sounds very nice too!
Great version.
One of very few songs that are from the perspective of a building.

What a song !!!

magic! great mix... would love to get a good quality download of this... any chance :)?
Does Jarvis realise on this extended version?
I'm not sure what you mean. He doesn't sing on the orchestral section if that's what you mean?
This song and Plastic are the Blue Monday of the future! Forever New Order!
Sublime
Wow! How did you do this? Was it time stretched or a granular sampler? Lots of reverb 👍🏾
I stretched it, but I can't remember if I added any additional reverb.
Thank you from Latvia. This version is brilliant! 😍
Ill say it again every time i hear any Simple Minds song, the Bee Gees pop into my head singing it, and it sounds, well actually amazing ❤
All of us are glittering prizes ❤!
I agree with your username
Great job. I actually really liked this and commented b/c I saw The Other Two. I was always a big New Order fan. I am the nontypical fan as I love George Strait, and a lot of the old Country too. Loved Monacco and Electronic. New Order's split up was bad, but look at what it spawned, we gained from their melt down. Sorry I had to edit got off track. Expose is w/o the best Female Group ever.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. The Other Two have a bad reputation, but I enjoy a lot of their work. Those first two Expose albums are brilliant. They have a terrific stage presence too. Kind of the opposite of New Order, but I love both.
Nice to hear, so well produced

Would be nice if you post the 12 inch remix as well
It's on TH-cam, it's called the Suave acoustic mix. There isn't a typical 12" remix unfortunately. Unless you count the longer album version.
Remind me of twin peaks
Great track tho the recording and performance here were a bit lackluster. I heard they kind of phoned in the last few performances so perhaps this is one of them? So sad that they ended so bitterly. All the potential in the world.
