Thank you! I can provide you an overview of what I replaced/would suggest: The sump, oil pick up and baffle plate needs swapping, you will need a gasket for the sump as it is not sealed with RTV. Oil pump (this comes with the relevant seals) Water pump, Auxiliary belt, automatic tensioner and one idler. Cambelt kit, and high pressure fuel pump belt kit. Exhaust cross over pipe and x2 gaskets for either end. Turbo to down pipe gaskets x2 I would suggest if you are leaving the turbos and manifolds on and not swapping them that you check the manifold studs haven't snapped. The flex disc (starter ring gear) bolts as these are stretch bolts. New body bolts x 10 I think. Would suggest doing the front to rear brake pipes whilst the body is off as they are hidden by the chassis. Starter motor was different, aircon pipes are different so I replaced the compressor and pipes from the LR. Alternator maybe the same but as a precaution I swapped it over. All the filters (Fuel, oil, air) A couple of packs of the wheel arch lining clips as they look awful when they have been put back and they are all chewed up. @tomthompson7400 suggested in the comments that it would be a good idea to replace the two EGR cross tubes so that maybe something to consider. The codes from the injectors need to be taught into the engine ecu, most generic scanners can do this. I hope this helps, If I think of anything else I will edit this comment.

@@TurningSpannerz they are available , not cheap , expect 400 for both , fit genuine . its a lot easier to do them now han lift the body again to do them in the future ,,,,

Hi There, it can really vary on what parts you want to replace whilst there and additional work (we also did the brake pipes) I think we spent about 1k on parts and then we had a donor car. If I did one again there were further parts suggested in the comments that I would replace. It then depends labour rates for your area. LR used to charge around 20k to supply and fit a recon engine.

I think it was about 150k, has all new inlet manifolds on there which is handy.

@TurningSpannerz cool... I buy a XF Engine too, with 150k Miles. But i drive a Discovery 4 and a XFs 😂 when one Engine wreck, i have one in spare.

Absolutely! I believe that is why so many end up being sold for spares online. The previous owner of the LR was gutted as he had owned it from new, he must of loved it as he bought another one lol

@ Very true. If I had the space I would buy a same spec, age disco thats a runner and keep it as a full spares parts bin. As The recent all new air comp, a pair of wheel bearings. New earthing strap, new Bosh battery. Full service cost as much as its worth on “We buy any car for peanuts”website.
