I feel like you could do more than just work with bits. Like with certain sizes of gears i feel like you could have certain rotations mean certain values. So like if it has 16 teeth that’s 16 different positions it can be in, 1 for each rotation. But i also havnt worked with knex in years and i also don’t know how u would make sure it only rotates a certain amount. Just an idea. But anyway this is super cool and i can’t believe this was made 11 years ago i would have loved to see this as a kid

This machine could probably be simplified but this guy is basically piloting kenex computing so not a lot to build off of

I have no problem understanding this from a digital electronics pov (gates, transistors..etc) but turning it into a big mechanical contraption bores me to death. I fell asleep just watching it
