When you move the switch to the right, it releases the hammer so the alarm can sound. When the switch is in the left position, the hammer is pinned up against the right bell and the alarm is off.

Question, i just received an Anton Schneider cuckoo clock model 41-9 and when i unpacked it and set it up they had the pendulum wire laying on the floor of the clock so i had to attach it to the crutch the two piece swivinling stainless assembly on the pendulum wire going to the escapement.. My question is does it matter how that was clipped on meaning, its orientation … left to right or right to left? The wire is straight and i fed it through the crutch correctly.. and hangs straight through the slot..with the round eye hanging outside. When it beats its functioning as one unit theres no teetering or bouncing going on where the wire is fed through that crutch rectangular eye.. and they join at that point. I finally figured out to just tilt the clock left or right to get a steady TICK TOCK beat… it runs great now.. thank u for ur tips too about rewinding i thought by assisting the weight as u pull up would put more stress on the pulleys or pivot points ;) but i see where it keeps the chain tight and from coming off the gears. :)

We just hung our clock and we set the time by only moving the minuet hand but we accidentally moved the minuet hand forward...everything clicked several times taking care to stop at the half hour and top of the hour...until the last hour nothing clicked and now it's not cuckooing. What can we do to get it going again. The time is working...it's ticking just fine. Help would be greatly appreciated...as my. husband is distressed🥴

I restored my step mothers old clock. it was crumbling in pieces. I got it working again. I had to move the leaf all the way up on the pendulum to get it to remotely stay close to time (over 2 days it gets to about 45 minutes slow where it usually stays). It is moving so fast an 8 day Regula is running full travel in a shade over 2 days. it is the only way it will run. And that side to side on the wall is picky as can be with mine. I had to fiddle with it for days before I gave up and called it a loss. Then one day I gave it one little tweak, kick started it and off it went. I think I am going to replace the movement since it is not collectible by any means at all. It's not like I am going to hurt value. I will keep the original and get someone who knows what they are doing to go through it for me if it is financially reasonable. No point in spending 200$ on a momement for a $75 clock. Thanks for the share!
