Sea Dragon Tea House
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 23 ต.ค. 2010
My videos are intended for people interested in martial alchemy. May it be a sensible language to you !
This is not a tutorial, nor a formal demonstration of any lineage. My training has been with the gods, spirits, and ancestors. The primary technique I share in these candid practice sessions is 'Embryonic Breathing', as it is called in Taoism. It may also be known as the Sea of Chi ( another name for the lower dan tien, as well as the non-dual experience ), 'Breathing through the heels', "Sea Dragon" and, through the non-dual awareness, 'Cultivating the Golden Elixir'.
This form is eclectic, like streams and rivers flow into a Sea; it echoes the role played by the Sea King who faces both Nezha and Sun Wu Kong in Chinese folklore ~ it is also not the same dragon, just as it is not the same form as other, "Sea Dragon" styles of Chi Kung. It can be called Tai Chi Chuan, Ba Gua Zhang, Shen Gong, Nei Dan, although Dao Yin seems best.
May you enjoy, like and share.

After the main opening session, I enjoy an interlude of Ba Gua steps before leading into Xing Yi. I go forwards left and right, then backwards widdershins and deosil. Here, I use some miao dao techniques with 10-foot pole to develop the rolling root.

Water flowing in and out of the Serpent's Mouth, evoking the Elixir flowing in opposite directions simultaneously. Pluck the Needle from Sea Bottom opens us to this - the first motion is piercing softly downward, the next is drawing back up. The express purpose of my Daoyin is to articulate the endocrine system, regulating pulse and breathing through deep, slow dan tien breathing which leads to Embryonic Breathing and returns the player to non-dual awareness, what is called, "becoming an immortal" in internal kung fu. Anyone can recall this Breath, and many often do it in quiet moments, or when their focus is in a trance. Athletes,...

Autumn and Winter forms can be more vigorous without overheating. When i need to exhale heat, I squeeze from the abdomen and the breath goes into my upper chest. I let a bit out of the corners of my mouth, if needed. While still squeezing the belly , I inhale deeply through my nostrils, to make a wave that fills me up from belly to chest. I do this once if I am focused on endurance; or 3 times ...

What style of kung fu is this? I have practiced Tam Tui, Northern Praying Mantis, and Choy La Fut and I don't recognize any of the weapons in your videos.
This is my own Sea Dragon Daoyin, with Embryonic Breathing. It has elements of 8 Immortals, Xing Yi, Tai Chi, and Ba Gua.
@SeaDragonandPhaybles ah ok. Cool 👍
My Sense is you need a boat and a pet crane :) great technique! and many blessings. 🍃🍃💮🌸🌄☸
A very long time ago, relative to now, in a single form of life. A friend suggested a film of moving pictures, entitled " Stand Still be fit " - It was a simple, yet detailed video on posture and energy. It was my first observation of not only amazing mountains in mainland China, but also in the west, what is viewed or deemed to be called " Chi Gong " - the simplicity of the video, was good. As is your form. If i may, as the use of keyboards is not a forte, nor language in and of itself, also, I am not very expressive, or too much so. Could you upload ? a similar video, of this form, but, without Music, maybe natural breathe work and the sound of your feet on the ground? maybe a talk and walk as you demonstrate and explain. I feel it would benefit, others who are less aware, perhaps. No pressure, as I am able to see and also, use a mute button. I often wonder, how the world is for deaf people, as well as others who are disabled, i am labelled as such (Mental Health), but then, do westerners like myself, appreciate or are even "Cognisant of Dao" - Mind No Mind Mind etc., Also Guanyin and the roots of culture. As a 1st pillar Fire Dragon, and Aries with red hair, as a man (It has been said i am about as Yang as is possible, by other people who i don't understand fully, now darker red brown at 48 cycles. I appreciate Yin, and i do attempt for balance in day to day. Though, also as a dragon, there can be no smoke, with out a small flame or spark of creativity. As we approach a new lunar year for people and folk who understand more than myself, we should honour the 1st arrival at Sri Buddha, and seek not only Chan/Zen forms, but commonality with all lunar/solar peoples on this small place at this time, it would be a solitary wish of commonality and real unity of companionship and camaraderie. In my own language. Happy New Year! Thanks - George
Thanks for your interest in my art. There are some other videos without music on my channel, but natural background tends to be amplified white noise, as I live next to a highway. There are several descriptions in my videos where I have written some thoughts about Chi and Breath , techniques for martial and meditative work, but I will be making some with voice-over at a point. Also, the music is my own work, too, so it reflects my thoughts and moods without words. Mostly, I have left it up to the form itself to supply the narrative.
Awesome!
This is Beautiful, and I appreciate this form, you have, and show for inspiration. It is not an easy thing! I have been working on a personal system. I would appreciate any Insights, you have. I think Wuji-do is an excellent name. Do you make videos of your practice ?
@@SeaDragonandPhaybles the embodiment of the philosophy, is the practice in itself. For example, Martial, meaning physical, making a simple cup of tea, do you stir both with both hands, in both directions ? and so on. Thank you for the kind words, and with gratitude, and respect, we breathe and walk here. Okinawan, Cranes perhaps, would vocalise, OSS! eyes closed, body bow Sea Dragon.
Gassho,@@Psionikman . May your practice deepen and grow always.
@@SeaDragonandPhaybles may life unfurl all its gifts for you, thank you again. full body bow.
Just wanted to express that I truly respect what you are doing. Your expression of the arts is by far one of the healthiest and grounded than I have come across in a very long time.
Wow ! Thank you very much.
lol wut 😟
Nice forms . Enjoy your life
where do i get a long stick like that, it looks like bamboo, but i cannot find any that long with the natural meandering at one end
Yes, it's black bamboo. Someone cut down a huge stand of it, and i looked through it to find the straightest one. Areas of town where people grow it may lead you to a pole, especially on heavy curbside brush pickup day.
Nice Gun Gong inspiration
the staff of the Monkey King is the Needle at the Bottom of the Sea !
Good energetic mooves👏 🌞

Nice form! Chinese martial arts? I've never tried anything with a bo longer than 6'.
It's Daoyin, Ba Duan Jin, with forms of Tai Chi, Ba Gua, and Xing Yi.
@@SeaDragonandPhaybles Thanks!
When you find a nice stick on the way from school
Love the end brother. May your qi flow like a clean mountain stream for many moons to come.
What a blessing! Thank you.
I can imagine what you are capable of with something a bit shorter..... 🙏
Long pole movements develop swordplay and penmanship !
Well done!🙏🎯
Thank you!
Very nice! Is that you? where did you learn this?
Yes, it's me. I began by combining Tai Chi Chuan with a 10 foot pole, then adding animal forms, 8 Immortals, Ba Gua, and Xing Yi over 9 years.
The moggy had a bad vibe ....
Could you be more clear ?
Very calming. Thank you.
You're welcome.

Your music and you are one... As above so below as within so without. Very powerfull bro. Thank u!
Thank You.
Looks cool, but also looks so easy to disarm.
This channel shares internal cultivation, not martial applications. Yes ! it looks easy to disarm.

this was awesome
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I will be sharing more empty hand Qi Gong.
This is very interesting! Is that a bamboo pole, or rattan? From what art are you deriving this exercise? Thank you for sharing.
That is black bamboo. This art grows from Sea Dragon Qi Gong.
@@SeaDragonandPhaybles Looks fascinating. Thanks for sharing. I need more outdoor space to practice; I'm a student of baguazhang and some of our staff forms use similar spins and slides.
@@ZenDoggie the components in Tai Chi Chuan , Ba Gua, and Xing Yi arise in each other, completing through unison. When you go to fill the gaps in Tai Chi, Ba Gua and Xing Yi naturally fill it out.
Neat
thanks
i love this, i tried something similar, i have a 6 foot bamboo staff, its like a monkey staff, i tried letting the staff guide me, and listening to it rather than trying to control it, and a flow arises from it, it feels like catharsis, like i have supreme control without trying.
Sounds perfect
i love how there are cats in every video almost
animals are attracted to Qi Gong, even birds !

thank you
i have some cool ambient tracks that would go really well with this if you are interested. i enjoyed this video
That's great, and I appreciate your interest. I am willing to listen to your tunes, but I will probably stick with the ones I'm making for personal reasons. Do you have some links or a page for your music ?
Nice. If you think about it. This is how all martial arts came about. ❤
Shamanism and alchemy ?
@@SeaDragonandPhayblesyes that also. We practiced this before any other colored skin showed up. You should look up Navajo sand painting. A very good depiction of the cosmos. The bad way to use magic infamous skin walker. Be very careful what you study and participate in. Walk in Beauty.
@@montebegaye8912 the Blue Star Kachinas taught me this breathing when I was an infant. Taoists call it the Embryonic Breathing. They taught me about the Sipapu that goes through our bodies. If I can, I will show others how to reclaim this heritage.
Powerful description man.
Thank you !
Love it 😀
Thanks !
@@SeaDragonandPhaybles my pleasure, I love the self directed movement one can extract from kung fu forms. I've trained in Hung Ga for 30 years and now can really enjoy what I've learnt by making it work for me and my needs , via freestyle movement🙏
@@Ballarateast I absorbed as much Hung Gar as I could in my youth, and trained very hard external forms. I quit in my 30s to start over from the internal methods I had learned. Freestyle is proactive well being !
Would love to see a series of staff basics, how to combine basic movements into more complex drills, etc
That's already mixed in with everything organically. A good example of the basic form of Sea Dragon is the video, SEA DRAGON, with no sub title. When I began with 10 foot pole, I used Tai Chi and Chi Gong with Dragon Pole kung fu, which I still use in my practice. If you watch a few of my videos, you'll see the drills, too .
Interesante

I've actually seen this Wudang video before, it's very well done. Wudang style often inspires and informs my own, especially the sword forms.
i love how your pants looks so epic in the wind. it still impressive how you can use such a massive staff mine is only 6 foot and i still struggle.
A long pole forces you to slow down and improve focus, balance, spherical awareness. The key is deep breathing through the nose into the belly !
6 foot staff can be very hard. When it is hard for me I play 2 at once, or use a very thick and heavy 6 footer. Working outside my comfort zone and adding subtle challenges is more rewarding than getting it to come out perfectly.
that staff is soooo long. is this taichi?
my Sea Dragon has Tai Chi, and also Ba Gua, 8 immortals, and many other forms. The dragon pole is 10 feet long.
