Rating Every Light I've Ever Purchased! (Apurture, Amaran, Nanlite, GVM, Neewer)
มุมมอง 8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Lighting is definitely one of those things that can be overwhelming, especially in the beginning of you filmmaking or cinematography journey. I’ve made many purchases, from Aputure, Amaran, Nanlite, GVM and more. Some of those purchases were great, some of those purchases weren’t so great. So, I figured I would make i a video talking about all of the lighting purchases I’ve made over the years....

thank you for putting out this video.
Hey bro I can’t find the M50 power cable anywhere, it’s not on Amazon anymore. Do you know somewhere else I can get it?
What cage did you use? Also, do you think a cage, plus V mount battery, plus cables for a USB C hard drive would be compatible with this thing?
Never serve koniak with ice, that is mistake.
I feel like with the Forza 60 lights many people getting those need them to be a small light so a full sized Bowens mount might create an issue for a lot of small light situations. Plus the option for the projector and Fresnel lens on a small light seems really nice. It does suck that it's Nanlite specific though, but it's kind of disappointing how few sub 100w pro lighting options there are if you need a small fixture. On the plus side the new version (Daylight, Bi-color, & RGBWW) of all the 60w Forza's include the Bowens mount adaptor and the battery grip so there should be a spot in the case so it's less likely to get lost. I've looked at GVM stuff, and it seems like there is a huge gap between the GVM lights that don't have the 'Pro' label and the lights that do, I have some of there tube lights (Pro-BD25R) which I like a lot and are pretty well built but when I look at reviews of the cheaper lights they sell it doesn't seem worth it.
All of the lights? You’ve gotta correct that 1st grade spelling mistake! - are you not embarrassed? Peace.
Thank you
It looks ridicilous. No one uses it like this.
What’s the estimated cost of all this?
Nice vid, amasing work
Great video. Looking to upgrade my RSC2 with counterweight to the RS3 Pro
You can get a softcase designed specifically for the 200x (made by a company named Fomito), in which you put the entire foam mold of the original box inside. Fits super tight, so it's an amazing option that cost only 14.99$ USD. Problem solved 100%
Hey dude, thanks for that! You made a super comprehensive list of the pieces of gear, however the only thing I could not find was the dummy battery model for the M50. Would you mind sharing the one you use?
Any chance you can post a gear list with links? How long does the V mount battery last? Also is it possible to add a Samsung T5 SSD on this Setup?
Where did you get the battery plate adaptor? I found the battery plate, just can't find the adaptor to slide on the rails.
Amazing that you magically had those counterweights on hand. Almost like you knew in advance that you would need them! I've noticed as you have that the adjustments on the Ronin are VERY tight, especially the roll axis. Hard to make precise adjustments. Anyway, looks like I'll have to get counterweights. Or remove the cage. But then I'd need a CFast card.
Bro, seems like you need a base plate or some kind of cheese plate. Those rods are only carbon, as we have seen with the recent underwater accident with the Titan, any scratches can cause delamination, and you also shouldn't over tighten on your rods as if you crush them they may collapse. In general though get your camera up off the ground.
Excellent video my brother.
Hi. I haven’t found on the gear list the dummy battery model you used for the camera. I bought a cheap one which introduced a lot of noise to the sound and made the touch screen real funny
what rig did you use?
Hey! Great video! Just got a M6 (very similar to the M50) and looking into rigging it. I was intrigued by the power solution you show. So I have some questions. Do you connect the battery to the camera via a dummy battery? Are you feeding power to both, the camera and the monitor with just one battery? For how long you can run that setup before changing bateries? I mean, compared to using the Canon Battery Thank you in advance for your answers and for sharing this.
How long can you shoot on one single charge with this setup?
Of
This was a great video. Mainly because I hadn't heard of a couple of them. Like Nanlite and Yongnuo. Neewer and GVM are dominate when it comes to light reviews it seems. So, thank you for that. I was about to get the Amaran but saw it's only one for the price. I love Aputure. But yeah, that'll have to wait. Again, great video. 👍🏾
Thank you! I do what I can man
Does the 6k pro fit the rs3 with or without a cage?
Great review. Thank you. I appreciate the variety and honesty. What would you recommend for lighting a wedding reception? I am a single shooter. I don't see myself doing many weddings, so thinking I should get something fairly versatile and not too expensive. Maybe even hire?
Surely gold standard.
When you run the Forza 200, is it as a key light or something else? Do you ever go over 33% output power?
This was needed!!!!!! I love my gimbal, but I do need this cage setup for certain shots I’m aiming for, especially for digital push-ins when scaled to 4K. 👀
Beast mode rig!
thank god for this video
Happy to help!
cognac with ice?
Does the handle mounted on top of the ring comes with the ring grip?
The handle is actually the battery grip from the RS3. Tilta designed it so the battery handle you already get from the gimbal can power the ring. It doesn’t last super long, which is why I opted to mount a v-mount battery as well
@@ForYouFromTemp can you attach the support vest to it?
@@iwritelife3635 I attach mine right next to the handle instead of on the handle personally but I know people the attach it to the handle
Definitely going to take a look at the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8, appreciate the info! Great video, brother!
Is it right to push only black people ? Can you imagine an enterprise called "White circuit media" and create content only from white people for white people ?
Nice Bro!!
This is so 🔥

@@ForYouFromTemp No problem! Plus, she looks so beautiful!
Do you get micro jitters with this setup? I have thje exact same setup and get some shakes - i can see my footsteps unfortunately i dont think it can be fixed.
I only get microjotters when I try to go into underslung mode. It takes quite a bit of time to get it balanced right but once you do, it works pretty well. Unfortunately with gimbals that only control 3 axis, you’re going to see footsteps. You can most likely get rid of them in post if it’s not too bad. If you want to get rid off footsteps (especially with a heavy setup like this) you need something to control that 4th up and down axis like the Tilta Float, some sort of Steadicam or the DJI Ronin 4D
To record on that tilta ring press power button once, not the rec. It will work 😉
do you think the amaran P60C is as bright or brighter than the GVM 800D kit you have? whether its brighter than all 3 combined or just 2 maybe? I figured it's more convenient to buy the amran and carry one light than need 3
I don’t know the exact stats. The p60c is definitely brighter than one GVM. Can’t say if it’s brighter than 2 but I’d say it’s better to have one good light vs 3 okay lights
wait brother how did you get it to record from the gimbal? I missed that part... what cable do I need? thank you for the video.
It connects via Bluetooth so no cables required!
Thanks a lot. Can you please put affiliate links for all parts
Nanlite 60 vs Amaran 200? In term of light output, have you tested them both?
are u able to put all the items in one basket ?
Have tried balancing without the camera cage on the BM? I'd say it has more room if you don't have that, no?
Fire video g, glad the 6K works seamlessly on the RS3 🔥
Nanlite 200 vs Amaran 200?
I’m going Amaran. It’s smaller, lighter, bi-color and packs a punch
I strictly use the 60b with the projector mount. I have to try the adapter with one of my fresnels. That might add life to it
Need a video on that tilta rig on the full set up
