Why did the just start a war for no reason just because some stuff vanished. We don’t even know who or what made the drones vanish. It’s a pointless war for absolutely no reason at all.

We've been fighting like this since the Revolutionary War. The Empire fights like the Red Coats. Earth is fighting like the Continental Army. The US got it's butt beat in Vietnam because the VC and the NVA fought like this while the Vietnamese Army and the US fought more like the Red Coats. Flexible and unpredictable is the way to win.

This story was very repetitive. If all of the repeated and restated parts were edited out, this story would probably be 20% shorter. And the final act was just a bunch of stuff the author pulled out of their butt to be a plot twist that was unnecessary and was unrelated to the early parts of the story.

You keep referring to "they and theirs" rather than "he or his". Since this is about a man, is this a "Woke" story? At least try and keep the story real instead of using terms reserved for groups of people.

Well written... I think. Unfortunately, the narration was so uninspired and wooden that my mind wandered more than... something that wanders a lot. Keep writing, but practice more on the narration.

Want my sub? Get a human narrator, instead of a tone-deaf A/I. Also, get stories that aren't so generic. You wanna tell a space combat story? Then make sure you can put in details, rather than relying on the vague prose of the conclusions to which those details are supposed to lead the reader. In other words, don't use stories that suck.
