@@NuggeyBron beggars can't be choosers! I'd almost always go for the wing when it's close but Flagg is hard to pass up. Who would you take?
@@bleavinwizardsI would say Aj at the moment, Flagg definitely the better defensive player but I feel like Aj in his 3-4th year in the league can already be averaging around 25ppg.Aj reminds me of SGA when neither one of their shot is falling they both know how to initiate contact and get to line and get points, the only thing is that Aj is doing that already at a high-school level I can’t imagine how much better he will get over the next 1-2 years but definitely a hard decision.

I read the article too; It seemed more of clickbait to be controversial. I doubt the front office is looking at his performance in regret. Everyone needs to chill with Bilal, I hear Superstar in the making, I hear bust..the kid is fine, he's 20 years old, let him develop. In two, three years then when can start talking behind his back..until then, let that man cook. he was a mannequin during the olympics tho...By the way the City Edition Jersey's are 🔥🔥🔥 and I think Omoruyi is going to get cut.

So let me get this straight. You work for the wizards, your cover the wizards with a fellow former player, you have ties to the wizards organization, you call yourself a real fan, but you say that we should cut Eugene, Johnny, and Pat Baldwin. Yeah makes sense. Fool
@@LawrenceLyles-vz1pn since you got none of that straight, let me get it straight for you. Neither of us work for the Wizards and I'm not sure how any of this would call our fandom into question anyway. We discussed who we think they will move on from because two people have to be cut/waived/traded to meet the roster limit, none of which would be in any way controversial suggestions. The majority of the conversation was focused on how in general I wouldn't want to move on from young guys to keep old players so perhaps you tuned out for the vast majority of the episode before making this ridiculous comment. Great interview, Adrien is tha real deal!
@@Luvdawg1lou thank you! And totally agree!
I hope we keep Jonas, I don't know how we landed that. What if Poole turns the corner and figures it out this season and puts up 20+ PPG 40% from the field and 35%+ from 3? What if Bub, Bilal (non-factor for France..smh), Kispert become solid contributors? You know what you can get out off Kuz and Jonas is a Menace and Double Double guy. Brogdan is a Vet and can get in where he fits in pretty well on the teams he played on in the past. We have unselfish team players and a hard nose Players Coach. If the coaching staff is better than last year, unless they tank on purpose, I still don't see what everyone is seen as a definite 20 win team. Every team in the league makes moves to get better, but the Wizards seemed like they kept what worked and upgraded alot in areas they were weak. I think the Wizards can be a interesting team to watch this season. Even though I stated a bunch of What if's, unless you look at the Wizards past and hold it against them, there's no way people can look at the Wizards today and say there going to be a 20 win team. The roster and coaching staff is way too unpredictable...October can't come any faster..
@@whatava83 a lot of "what ifs" in there and I doubt they have to worry about most of them coming true. Going to be interesting. Like you said, can't wait until October!
Alex Sarr reminds me of Tyson Chandler.
@@stevenbfine that wouldn't be so bad
Which teams risk going into the second apron next year? Those are the teams to target for Kuzma, Brogdon, Holmes, Bagley, and even Kispert deals. Too bad the Warriors got under, because Wiggins, unprotecting the 2030 first, and another first for Kuzma was possible. I'd keep JV around for a year-- Sarr is at least 25 lbs. of muscle away from being a center (and may 15 lbs. from being a 4)

Bubb Carrington thoo‼️😱MGOODNESS‼️ He's legit! Straight DOGG!

Blazers fan here. I believe Sarr will be great sooner rather than later. I also believe he needs to focus on the small things like boxing out, set good screens, remain disciplined on defense etc..be great at being a dog that does all the small things in which some won't show up in the box score, and like you fellas mentioned, playing with more physicality would serve him great. Then go hard at developing the skills that Wizards fans & staff got excited about prior to the draft. My last belief is that y'all got a good one! 🤟🏽

I couldn’t agree more with check marks Matt!!! Just like I discussed with you on Twitter his soft play is the most frustrating part. I need aggression, physicality, that fire. You’re right we need less French & more American ass hole play😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂. Being aggressive is innate in my opinion so I’m concerned that it may not be in him but I’ll wait to see how he develops. Lol, That bum Clingan shut down your #2 pick. Priceless..
@@basketballguy1201 bum? Based on what?
@bleavinwizards the Podcaster mentioned Clingan as a bum in the beginning part of podcast.
4:55 mark
He didn't call Clingan a bum from his perspective, he was saying what Sarr's mentality should be. Clingan is far from being a bum let's make that clear.
@@rosecityusa6120 you're absolutely correct. That seemed to be Clingan's mindset in taking on the challenge, would have loved to see Sarr match that energy.
Sarr's lack of strength has him relying on the outside shoot at this point. He gets pushed around and can't get to the basket because he physically can't do it.
@@melvinmccray5974 added strength will definitely help but also needs a mindset shift
Sarr is not a 5. No one should think he is one. Clingan is a 5. He had a terrible ofensive game as well but he does rebound and block shots, something no Wizards player has done in a very long time.
@@lockedonlaw clingan blocked one more shot than Sarr and only had a few more rebounds...
@@bleavinwizards Yes, but I was more referring to Clingan being a lot closer to 300lbs than Sarr. Sarr is not built for post play in the NBA.
@@lockedonlaw only people who weigh 300lbs can play the 5 in the nba?
@@bleavinwizards No, but how many players who weigh 225lbs do?
@@lockedonlaw how many rookies never put on weight?
It’s Summer League but damn that was tough to watch from Sarr. I’m kinda confused too about these lineup selections. I’m wondering if they sat Johnny Davis to increase his stock. Instead of cutting him, they could include him in different packages like a Tyus sign and trade. Idk. This Front Office keeps me guessing. The best thing I’ve seen so far was Bub. I see him as a 2 Guard than a 1. He reminds me of a Rookie Brad Beal. Nearly same age and build. I would love to see Poole at the 1, In Bub we trust at the 2, Bilal at the 3, Kuz at the 4, and Jonas at the 5. Still this early we all need to see more..
@@whatava83 sadly I doubt all the good SL games in the world would give Davis any trade value at this point
@@bleavinwizardsI like Johnny he's trying so hard you can see it, but I agree whole heartedly..I think there trying as much as he is..but its not enough..it more like euro or bust..

0-15 is so damn bad. Has to sting.
@@chirocket4791 it was pretty rough to watch so I have to imagine it was pretty rough for him to experience. Hopefully he shrugs it off next game
As a Blazers fan I have to say that many years back in Nicholas Batum's 1st Summer League game was just as bad as his fellow French brother Sarr. Take no stock in this bad game & know that it's just the beginning to a great career for Sarr. If he's a dog you'll know by his work ethic. He'll be fine..

Good episode. I just saw a Cody Toppert Interview, he seems sharp. With the little knowledge I have with him, the Go-Go didn't do too bad with him last year. I agree with Jahidi but we don’t need Deni’s versatility right now. I think it was smart to move on from him. It was never going to be his team and I am not sure he was a good long term fit.
@@acefstripe that's fair! Curious in what way he would have been a bad fit tho
@@bleavinwizards. first I love Deni but he strikes me as temperamental, which is a great think for intensity at times. But riding out another couple years of losses and management constantly tweaking roster may be hard for him. And then ultimately getting overshadowed by younger players possibly..
As the days went on I started realize Deni had to be traded to get Sarr. I look at it now as, we didn't trade Deni for Bub, but more of, we picked Sarr over Deni. Deni and Sarr can't coexist. Sarr doesn't want to be a 5 even though he might play 5 situationaly, his primary would be a 4. Deni is young and trying to work into his prime, I don't see his ego taking a step back and playing off the bench now or even when Sarr develops. I also think this is being looked at wrong. Kuz didn't get traded because Kuz is better than Deni so they sought to pick the least better between Deni and Kuz which would solve the log jam at the Starting 3 position to be traded. I usually agree with Jahidi but finally I have something to disagree on...I also don't think there trying to tank. Having Poole at the 1 Bilal at the 2 Kuz at the 3 Sarr at the 4 and Jonas at 5 is not the worst team in the league. There may not be alot of scoring but there would be a lot of defense with that line up. Good defense can open the door for the offense. The Wizards seem like there building a complete team with decent coaching. Given there not a Clippers type team with a bunch of stars..but more of a younger and modern 23-24 Magic type team (that's not saying much), but they don't look like a under 20 win team. I think we need to watch and find out..wins are hard to judge at this point..💯...this episode was tough..I needed some therapy after the Deni trade...
@@whatava83 it wouldn't be any fun if we all agreed all the time so we appreciate the counter perspective! Appreciate you offering this one up. And glad we could help with a little therapy session for all of us who needed it. Hopefully a fun season coming up regardless of record!
@@bleavinwizards 😂💯
The way that I look at this is that the Wizards do not want the first round pick to convey to the Knicks this year or next year. The goal is to pick young upside picks, clear out salary space in future years, collect addition picks, give the young players a chance to get some playing time, and focus on a 4 or 5 year horizon. The 2029 Portland #1 is just another tradable asset. It may be a move that the Wizards come to regret, but as versatile as Dani is, I don't think he is a cornerstone.
@@jrvr4538 I think that seems like a fair and reasonable way to look at it
Yo My Brotherin, So disappointed. Right Now!!!!. We traded the wrong playa, we developed "23"him Skilled, could lock 🔒 you up and has a solid contract, Major head scratcher, Salute 💪🏿.
@@FSU4LIFE100 hopefully it ends up being a trade we all look back on and are happy with the outcome! 🤞
@@bleavinwizardsI think Bub has a chance to reach Deni level. But I will miss his open court speed!
Matt, you and Jahidi are tops!!! Very insightful and provided a very mature analysis of the game. It's amazing to see how Jahidi's perspective on basketball is still relevant and on point! You both work well together...LUV U GUYZ!!!
@@tubedoctorful really appreciate the kind words! Jahadi is such a great dude so I love to see people getting a kick out of his analysis
I'm not an expert in NBA contracts but according to what i have been heard as much as Deni contract is really good today, it's really bad for the team that id going to possessed him in his next contract. Bird rights have limits: i think something close 40% more then the last year so it will be something like 16.5 per year, so any team under the maximum salary cap can offer him much more money. There are conditions that can allow him better offers under the Larry birds right (marks like allstar appearance or personl prize), so maybe Portland believe that Deni is going to achieve this marks and the Wizards don't. Mike Schmitz, a former ESPN analysis, is working in the Blazers today and he was known as a guy that believes in Deni greatness.
@@itai4242 that would already be a bargain based on his current level of play
@@bleavinwizards Yes. Isaiah Hartenstein sign in OKC for 87 to 3 years when the knicks could only offer him 52 to 4 years. That's going to be a big problem in the limits
