Hello and welcome to the official Ben Benson Studios TH-cam channel! My name is Ben and I'm an autistic guy who loves trains and a bunch of other things. I've been making videos for a while now and have been on TH-cam for over 10 years. The content I post here is usually train related, though I do make other types of content on occasion. Govenors Island Trestle | Over 31 Year Difference
Same locomotive, same railroad, same locations, over 31 year difference.
Here we see United States Army 1702 crossing the Tuckasegee River on the Governors Island Trestle, located on the former Southern Railway Murphy Branch in both May 1992 and December 2023.
The May 1992 footage was filmed by the late John Nelson and is from the Trackside Video program "Steamin' in 92", which was found and preserved in collaboration between me and Y0Y0Evan. The program in question can be seen here: th-cam.com/video/Hw2zVoNNknk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=t8momA00HmCnaPvv

I simply rest my camera on the car I'm riding in and just record for a few seconds at a time. Sometimes I stick my camera out of the car a little bit if I have to.

From what a Strasburg conductor told me, this is unfortunately how they're gonna be running Thomas for the foreseeable future.

@@DillianTrainzStudios At first I thought it was a Mattel decision, but I ended up finding out it was Strasburg’s decision. They changed the length of the ride for logistical reasons and so that Thomas can have more time for photos at the station. While understandable, it’s still stupid and doesn’t make it any less of a ripoff.
