Its astonishing to see a physician take such a skewed view on a well designed, expertly implemented CT that enrolled 6000 participants, and also had success in participant retention. That met primary outcomes... you have input your own bias on the data to present endpoints in a negative manner. 1. the percentage of African American (24%) women in the trial being larger than the national average (15%). Considering the overwhelming evidence to point that AA women have worse pregnancy outcomes than other races the fact that the trial enrolled higher than the national average but still saw success in labor outcomes should be seen as a "big win" for this trial. 2. you mention the age cutoff of 35 per the trails inclusion/exclusion criteria. As a Doctor practicing 30 years you should understand that all trials have inclusion/exclusion criteria. The real world application of this trial is for women under 35 that are going to be going through labor for the first time... that is the patient population induction was more successful in. Pretty simple. 3. primary outcome was met. point blank period. 4. you mention the lower instance of caesarian in both groups compared to the national average. Yes, this makes sense considering the enhanced standard of care that is seen in patients who enroll in a clinical trial. This should make you and all other OBs look in the mirror and ask yourselves what can I do better to improve C-section rates in my office? 5. you mention hyper-tension percentages as higher than the national average. I agree with your here, however, the answer to this lies in the patient demographics of enrolled patients. For example, as you mention, AA women see higher rates of hypertension. In addition, this was an expected adverse event in the trial, so clinical research staff was actively looking for hypertension in patients vs. in clinical practice this is not the case and this number may be under reported. Again, like in point 4 this is perhaps an outcome where you can self-reflect and assess whether you are providing adequate care and follow-up to your patients. 6. You say that in 2022 there is no place for elective induction due to the pandemic. This is a sad take, the internet is forever, here I am in 2024 and the truth is this does not apply to me. you end your video by boasting about how you have 30 years of experience and how you dont mess with mother nature. I'm really happy you went into OB and not Onco because with that logic all your cancer patients would be dead. Cancer occurs naturally in the body, and the body has its own way of fighting it, which obviously fails hence you end up with cancer, aka mother nature is not always the smartest. If we don't study different treatment options for these conditions and advance medicine we will never improve patient outcomes. This is also the truth in pregnancy. If you were the GREAT physician you say you are then you would perhaps offer inductions to those who are a good fit for them (eg. in this study <35 y/o, nulliparous, low-risk). In addition, if you were the true patient advocate you say you are you would know that inductions have a place in Obstetrics, for example in women who have labor anxiety and would like to feel "in control" during labor. You could offer them a PROVEN SAFE alternative to just waiting. After all the ARRIVE trial also assessed moms pain during labor and perceived control during childbirth (Labor Agentry Scale), which interestingly found the labor group to report lower pain and higher perceived control on a statistically significant basis compared to those in the expectant management arm.

I have really shady friends. Like, extremely shady. If this happened to me or someone I loved I would find the doctor who authorized this for people to practice on me and I would send my people find out where he lives to practice on him. Doctors better think twice who they're practicing on or who they're talking to they're not God

Thank you so much for this video! I just had a similar situation, higher blood pressure, hospital ran the tests, diagnosed with gestational hypertension, no other symptoms, tests came out normal, the docs still really hard tried to convince the induction, while I’m on 37 week. It was so emotional stressful, to feel this fear instead of support. We did say no. God willing the baby will come once he ready without complications

I recently had my first OB appointment (8 weeks). They said I would have to be induced at 37 weeks due to chronic HTN, despite my BP being good at that visit and it having been well controlled on meds over 5 years now. They didnt even give me a choice and have only seen me once! Im 36 years old, so Im seeing a high risk OB. This video is very helpful and I will be advocating for myself at the next appt. Thank you!!

This video helped me a lot!! I’m 34 years old healthy pregnancy and a 39 weeks induction was recommended by my obgyn when I was 26 weeks of pregnancy. I asked the reason why should i!? He said… nobody wait for 40 weeks anymore, I’m not the center of universe if I decide to wait for natural labor he might not be able to be in the hospital on time and someone not prepared for will help me with that. If something goes wrong it’s my fault. And he started talking about child mortality. I was mortified! Felt horrible, depressed and pressured… my fear was if I say no he will not do what has to be done when the day comes. After few days and this video I faced the reality, spoke with professionals involved ‘clinic’and Doctor if he presents me a medical reason for indication I could consider it. If he can’t make on time the day of my labor to tell me that I was going to look for a different obgyn to assist me with that. Done✅

I'm glad to have found this video. I went to the doctor and it's my first baby. The doctor is pushing us to have an induction at 37 weeks. I started finding all these videos now. I asked the doctor if we could wait until the 13th instead of the 10th, and she's like no. My blood pressure is good. I was raised because i went in for a uti one time. A few weeks later, i went and randomly had another one and all of a sudden they're like you have gestational hypertension and we have to induce. I didn't even get a chance to say no.

As someone who formerly owned an accredited medical degree granting university, I say with confidence that western medical training is based on two interests: profit from surgeries to cut and paste, and profit from petroleum-based chemical drugs. Yes, patented prescription drugs are made from oil. They are designed to mimic natural compounds derived from plants and animals. Natural medicines cannot be patented. That is their problem. The American Medical Association and US national newspapers systematically and purposefully discredited and destroyed natural medicine and its practitioners starting from the 1920s until the 1950s. Rockefeller, the owner of Standard Oil, funded the creation of the American Medical Association. His business associates owned all the major newspapers. They were a secret club designed to obtain maximum profit from the American herd (that’s us.) This doctor gets his information and his license to practice from the AMA. If he told the truth, he would lose his license and income. People do not understand or seem to even care about the massive medical fraud perpetrated by AMA licensed doctors. The consumption of placenta for recovery after delivery and its efficacious healing of diseases has many thousands of years of history throughout the world. This doctor knows nothing about that history because he has never studied it. Everything he thinks he knows comes from the AMA which promotes amazingly ineffective and yet highly profitable non-cures such as chemotherapy. Yes, placenta is a powerful and natural way to restore vitality after delivery. Yes, placenta cures diseases and is the source of the most effective stem cell regenerative therapies. Top athletes can regenerate their severed Achilles tendon with placenta-derived stem cell injections. It’s all hush-hush and only for the rich. Yes, placenta allograft patches are being used to cure hard-to-heal open wounds. It’s a miracle. Yes, placenta allograft patches, obtained from the outer layers of a placenta, are being placed into open body cavities after a surgeon has finishes cutting and pasting. The natural cytokines in these allograft patches, speeds recovery, reduces pain, and prevents post operative infections. It’s a miracle. And yet hospitals and doctors pretend to know nothing about it. That’s because there’s far less profit in actually healing people. Like Prince said, “In this life, you’re on your own.” The only doctors who might actually care about healing you have had a family member suffer from the exact same thing you are suffering with. If they have not personally faced the disease, you are just a cash cow to them. Sorry not sorry.

Hi, not sure if you'll read this, but I had one high blood pressure, was send to the labour and delivery for monitoring, had very normal reading and some that fluctuated, nothing over 135, (was advised to buy a b.p monitor) with normal labs no protein in urine, I feel well overall, light swelling nothing concerning, but they stated I have hypertension and need to be induced I'm 39 weeks nearing my e.d.d 10/22/23. We declined my partner and I the induction as well as the membrane sweep. I'm also 2cm dilated. The Dr states I should not go another week pregnant maybe two more days. I'm overwhelmed with thoughts and emotions, doubting my body. Do you have any suggestions ?

This happened to me with my last child! I would always have my BP checked at the dr and it would be high during the 37th week. They send me both times to be monitored at L&D and when I would get there my BP was fine both times. The following week OB said we’re just going to induce you a Wednesday. Not something I wanted at all but being an obese woman I always felt unheard when advocating for myself so I would agree
