I liken it to Marvel and Star Wars. The original people who started these franchises aren’t really in charge anymore. It’s a business now more than a community. Their goal is to drive away the long time core community. They are thinking of the future. As an OG who has played in this vein since Halo 1, they would rather have my daughter playing than I. The next generation won’t know how good this game was. The new and current format is all they will know. It’s a good gamble, I’m almost done gaming. GT7 and D2 are all I play. I’m not their target demographic anymore.

Refreshing to hear someone talk about the armor sets. I get they’re not super important, but you can clearly see that they made a pattern to attempt to incentivize players to purchase better looking armor from Eververse out of frustration. • If they make new armor for tower vendors, it’s usually pretty ugly or not nearly as cool as they used to be. • If they make new armor for a destination/seasonal vendor, it’s usually hit or miss, but still not cool enough • If they make new armor for a dungeon or a raid, it’s usually pretty cool, buttttt just not as aesthetically pleasing as most EV sets • Then all you can help to think is “well this EV armor is just way better looking, guess i’ll drop arguably way too much cash for something that should have been acquirable in-game.”

dude exact same story for me. i joined my friends commander night a few months ago and since then ive been completely hooked. since then ive built multiple decks myself and it has completely taken over my life. i regularly go to my LGS' commander night and ive spent way too much time and money thinking about and building my decks. i have one friend who showed me the basics and got me into it, he built me my first deck too Interesting part about getting into magic now is how trying to look up beginner advice and just seeing how pessimistic and jaded the long time fans are about every piece of magic news

Nice, not a common opinion among people who got introduced to the series through anomaly! As a super long time fan I'm super happy with them sticking to the structure of old games and essentially just porting it to modern gen. Mods and all those popular overhauls were built on the original games, not the other way around after all. Hopefully the first batch of patches smoothed out some technical and balance issues for you and many others who were struggling with performance. This game deserves to be played with minimal hiccups and I genuinely believe it will become an instant classic after the developrs fully realise their vision

Man, you played anomaly. Why you dont turn off hud in Stalker2 🤷‍♂️. This game heavy on CPU. If you got a performance issues on 4090, its definitely your CPU. Lower a settings that have most impact on it. I have 4070 and ryzen 2600x. And i have 60 fps. On hight - epic settings. Yes CPU from 2016 can handle this game. And there is a tests on rx480 👀 and somehow its run as intended. So it you have some issues within performance check what exactly happens on CPY and GPU at the first place and then act accordingly.

Play Warframe, its not just more destiny i promise but its in same realm of game. Good luck.

Game of the year? This in its current state? Thats an insult to the title GOTY. It really is. Dont you people have any standards anymore? Bullet sponge enemies with 100 percent accuracy and a ridiculous spawn rate make this absolutely trash gameplay. I shouldn't be looking at stash boxes or other POIs as too much of a hassle to explore because as is it costs more to do so, then i could ever gain by doing it. All my AK ammo gone, went through a bunch of med items, and the loot barely covers any of the cost. Ok fine. But then there the weapon degradation and how fast that happens combined with the costs to fix things? No way. This game as is makes me want to fast travel all the time and i never fast travel in games, which further goes to show that the actual gameplay at the moment is absolute trash.

The swords with MM perk feel incredible. I love the light sword for armor regeneration but the void sword is by far my favorite. Basically a free anywhere but here if you hop in the rift you make

On performance: The 3080 in my real computer gets consistently above 100fps everywhere, and 120 outdoors, after the recent patch and updating my drivers. I have everything but motion blur cranked to the max. My laptop's 3060 gets 50+fps everywhere and 70+ outdoors. I think that massive stuttering problem that everyone was calling a memory a leak was just a driver/patch issue. At least that's what fixed it for me. It got really bad during the cutscene between Faust and Strider, ruined that whole otherwise awesome scene. So I went and tried and succeeded at fixing the issue. There are definite nostalgia goggles in some places, I'd keep running to new areas and squeeing 'I member that!'; but I've read from people who're playing this game first it still seems to be a very cool world for them. The enemy spawning issues are real. They couldn't get 'A-Life' working in time so they slapped in this shoddy 'spawn enemies when player is near' system that everybody hates but makes the game playable. Otherwise there'd be no enemies outside of hard scripted encounters. Hopefully they get that working soon. A lot of the environment you and the enemies are supposed to be able to shoot through. A bit of plaster or a quarter inch of sheet metal isn't going to stop a 7.62 round. There's even an achievement for it. But yeah, I've had enemies shooting me through several feet of dirt or concrete and stuff too. They're also too accurate on higher difficulties and too stupid on easy difficulty. Plus on all difficulties they seem to notice you instantly, or not at all. I've crept into rooms and headshot 9+ guys while they all stared at the wall in front of them, then other times I'll try the same thing and they're shooting me before I even round the corner. It's very obviously fake/cheating AI. The AI needs to cheat (for now), but it doesn't have to be that obviouis. They should just rip the AI from FEAR, that was great and still better than most of the AIs I've seen around. Also the callouts are laughably bad. "I'm hiding here!" and the grenade spam. It wasn't so bad till they start using the F1s on later areas. I've had like 3 crashes in 60+ hours. 1 soft-lock where I had to kill the process. All of them were when alt-tabbing. The saving is weird. Most of the time it's great, several rotating quicksaves and autosaves plus unlimited manual saves and they're usually timed great so you don't lose too much progress. But occasionally I'd get in a spot where it wouldn't let me save, probably due to an enemy hunting me, and a few times I did lose 10+ minutes progress when I thought it should've saved. Twice, near the end of the game, you'll get into some really unfair shooting sections where you can't save for the whole thing. Took me 2 hours to finally beat that, kept getting one-shotted by the dudes with railguns. Are you on an SSD? What CPU do you have? How much RAM? For having a 3070 you do seem to be having a lot of issues. I've got a Ryzen 7 and an I7 respectively. 64gbin my rig and 16GB in my laptop. It takes maybe 30 seconds for the shader compile for my real computer. Still only a minute or so for my laptop. There's a mod to disable that if it really bugs you, just be sure to disable it at least once every patch or PC update. Oh, technically it's on an M.2, but they're not that much faster than standard ssds. The texture 'z fighting' and money issues were mostly fixed. Also the money issue is moddable. Ammo wasn't a problem for me outside of very early and very late-game; BUT I added one mod to lower consumable's weight and one to slightly increase the backpack weight limit. Plus I go around looting everything, like grid searching the zone. Haven't beat veilguard yet, but given how stalker grabbed me and didn't let go all weekend while veilguard did not, I can be reasonably sure this is my goty. Could just be a poor start on veilguard, but I've heard (from non-wokebsnoise sources) that it's pretty preachy and tutorial like all the way through.

the game is great but it has glaring performance issues mainly due to devs crunching to release the game on time so they relied on check mark developing as mean as that sounds to make the game look good and get it to market faster. Glad they could do that, just wish that meant taking note of areas to optimize it. bc theres no way in hell stalker 2 should be running worse than games like battlfield 5/1 with how static the world is. Stalker 2 needs more time to cook at the hands of modders/devs to try to tweak the issues unreal engine has. and most of the issues are bc of Unreal.

Atmosphere, missions, story, gunplay, graphics, sound, exploration are all amazing! Feels very faithful to the previous games as well, while adding some great bits from mods like Anomaly. Yes there are bugs and performance issues. But the game is still a work of art. For someone who loves the previous Stalkers and the mods, Metro series and Shooter open world games, Stalker 2 is a truly unique experience.

you only need to compile shaders once (when you boot up the game the first time). and you can then use the mod to skip shader compiling HOWEVER, if you patched the game or updated your gfx drivers, you need to remove the mod (its just a pak file) so the game will recompile the shaders or your game will glitch and crash. then reinstall the mod.

Great video! I can’t wait to play the game once the crashes that cause lost progress and stuff get fixed, the attention to detail and the world looks fucking incredible. still a miracle the game even got finished given what the studio/employees went through

The game will never be |legacy| ever again. Ever since Bungie sold their soul to the devil SONY, it's gone EVEN MORE downhill. But hey, its always nice to play with friends, cut up with, hang out, and laugh. Something Bungie cant take away from us or vault!

Our core playlists have been replaced with arenas. PvP is in shambles and makes grinding weapons pointless. Ive had the same artifice armor for years

Yeah it’s a great game just how much can you grind any game before you burn out really. I used to switch between pve and pvp but now the pvp is close to dead and pve im really just sick of.

As someone who has played on and off for around 2 years, I feel it man the burnout is real. I think what made the game feel so stale and heartless at least to me was when they laid off like 300 employees and split focus to marathon, it makes me sad that they’re pouring more and more to marathon and losing more important resources to destiny, and sure I understand deadlines are a thing but this game needs a sort of bigger wake up call and maybe something similar to what operation health was to siege… that being said even if I stop booting up destiny every day, there will always be that itch to play the game or that little voice saying “hey… u should play destiny..” and it brings me back every time

Started playing with Lightfall and Im already at this point. Shame, the game has so much more potential.

Coming from a D1 vet and D2 beta player you gotta play different games or switch characters every week or else it get stale. The super spamming changes are a great and I’m actually happy to build craft again

Liberty Falls imo is still a lazy map, is it fun sure? But it’s a lazy map that does nothing with its Intro cutscene their should’ve been a better Easter egg that opens the area and perhaps even spreads the dark Aether again it is fun but it feels lazy in a way, Terminus tho wow it’s a great map a Mid A Tier map and a great start to BO6 but wish Liberty Balls had more for its Easter egg and aesthetic a more apocalyptic feel

How about I just try to help out with some recommendations that I believe fill at least some of the hole that Destiny 2 can leave: You have first descendant You have division 2 still making updates You have deep rock galactic You have darktide You have black ops 6 zombies. Basically onslaught but with cool easter eggs and abilities etc... You have remnant 2 And if you're willing to branch out just a little to something that isn't a shooter but might stlil fill the hole, you have games like Path of Exile, Diablo 4, Last Epoch. Path of Exile 2 is even coming out soon.

You're spot on with a lot of things and much like I was unfortunately correct with my suspicions over Episodes barely moving the needle and being a pain with gating too much ,the Frontiers system teased doesn't inspire much hope when we're not only being shortchanged a raid and a dungeon in a year of Destiny, but now the year is piecemealed it can leave a really awkward situation of things feeling lopsided and like a glorified season and QOL updates as top dollar paid content. I know the biggest thing with Destiny in current year is there are still sunk cost diehards(which obv only gets you so far), but if these DLC for Frontiers go for $50 each and we're essentially paying what we'd normally would for a year of Destiny AND there's less stuff, that's just going to be awful. Hell even if it was $40/$80 for year, chances are you're still probably getting hosed somewhere in terms of the valuation of content and just how much is lack. If the raid and dungeon are so so-not good, that's going to be a hefty price tag for something you're not enjoying. Even if it's not ideal and has problems, I could at least avoid a season/episode in Destiny or a dungeon with the current system. Even looking at current Episodes, it's obnoxious running an activity or exotic quest through half a dozen+ times to fully beat it and that one with Encore was awful with the collectibles that got added once you did absolutely everything, cut me a break. To quote an old Datto video(thoughts going into 2021), "Innovation in Destiny cannot just be "more Destiny"" , just adding more of the same in a repackaged way isn't going to cut it and obviously in recent time we've seen it downright fail. The numbers of player count dropping do not lie and there are some legitimate points to not even bother with this game or get much enjoyment. On top of that it's incredibly lazy and lame to hype brand new content with basic QOL features that should've existed in Destiny ages ago. Some sandbox balancing, reworking armor, adding a bunch of modifiers for a chance of more loot rewards isn't innovation nor something that should be tacked on as a big selling point for a DLC quality content. **TLDR** There's only so many times you can play through a game you felt like you beat a 100 times over, and I think for a lot of people still playing, Destiny is a game that a lot of people are just simply tolerating at best and that's not great.

Bungie needed to create another sequel to keep Destiny going and that didnt happen. A game set in another time in the distant future with some familiar faces would have been an answer to a "reset". I stuck it out through the first episode to see what Bungie could still muster up for this dying franchise. Its safe to say this game is a far cry from the first Destiny. The narrative team has stuck the last knife in this game but it has indeed been dying for years. The Destiny magic is long gone and Bungie clearly doesnt have what it takes to do this game justice anymore. On the brightside, the game still looks good (not beautiful like D1) and the gunplay is still amazing and that is what carried me through this far. The music fell off, the narrative is bad, the worlds dont capture my imagination like D1 and space magic is waay overdone. I finally put the game away after growing tired of waiting to see if some resemblance of the game I fell in love with was still there. I saw glimpses of it which kept me hoping for more. In the end, it just couldnt bring me back. Bungie became content with making Destiny an average game and Im the last one in my group of friends to give it up. I just ordered another copy of D1 and plan on running the entire game again on a new character. I havent played it since D2 released and Im so excited to relive it one more time.

I agree with a lot of what youre saying. And i say this as an 11-year player as well. If Bungie only appeals to the hardcore high skill player the game will die completely. Casuals are the core of the playerbase of most games . Destiny is never gonna survive on an Elden Ring type pf following. And from a business standpoint you have to appeal to their interests. if master Raids and Dungeons, GMs as well as Trials and comp and all the high sklil content are not enough for ya then you obviously are just way to talented to be playing this type of game and you should move on and challenge yourself in other venues. However, the elitist attitudes of stop appealing to causals, if implemented will completely destroy whats left of an already withering away franchise.

the reason why i loved destiny was when i started it, *everything still was in the game besides the paid expansions*. but nowdays? nowdays f2ps dont have anything besides xur, pvp, gambit and NOT EVEN ALL STRIKES??? if the nightfall goes into a dlc strike? well fuck you! you will skip that weeks reward, it's dog shit. besides for me being f2p for well over 1200 hours (yes am not joking) before getting witch queen as my very first dlc and then after that midway throught the year all of the rest made me realize one thing. paid content is motherfucking p2w, "but its pve" my dude half the cool looking models are paid, i still cant believe how bungie overly designed the shadowkeep models to sound that good and look that unique to be dogshit in nowdays sandbox, they refuse to update older content or give it a slight bump (most older weapons do NOT have intrinsic traits not even retroactively). "but just pay its not that pricey the game goes in discount a lot" not everyone is privileged enough to do so, i wasnt and i still kept playing but my sole reason to grind as a f2p was the bright dust to get new skins not even joking. and when i tried to FIND alternatives for older weapons i had which i loved playing with, just to see the equivalent was FUCKING PAID that pissed me off a LOT. because the loot i had was sunset..... so yes they are shitting on the game on purpose, d1 didnt had good story neither d2, but both have good world building via READING, the base d2 campaing is something am still pissed for never playing it because when i saw a whole video of it i nearly damn cried on how good was the pacing of it and the level design went hard, so hard in fact that they are still reusing pieces of it till todays seasons! :D going back to shadowkeep the guns were that sick because was content not developed by bungie it was still made by the activision teams. so yeah fuck bungie, they are hostile towards new players, the game has absurds amounts of paywalls, and what is fun is outdated and doesnt drops anymore and what's good is paid........ oh and to finish it off, bungie started making marathon, matter, and a third game BEFORE QUITTING ACTIVISION, and the destiny team NEVER returned to those 900+ devs the game had with activision, thats why all the content is reused and shit they REFUSES to give this game the manpower it needs to be good ON PURPOSE which is absurd.

Been playing for 10 years and today is the day I finally decided to delete the game after so long so I find it kinda funny this pops on my feed lol. I’ll always love this game but I can see what direction this game is going in and I feel contempt in finally letting go revenant is an all time low for me and really just showed me that there’s nothing left for me to experience I’ve done everything I’ve ever wanted to, have the best guns and the power creep has made the game far too boring for me and the recycled content being at an all time high and cosmetics continuing to get the priority I just can’t take it, I respect the people who still decide to invest in this game but seeing what destiny rising is getting albeit being a mobile game it just makes me want a new destiny title so badly but even then that’s just a fantasy as if bungie could even properly launch a new game and it would probably still have the same issues. I’m fine with leaving things off with the final shape being the last expansion I experienced, I don’t have any investment towards the characters or story anymore and it just feels complete to me no reason to continue these new episodes stories just exist to keep milking the same plot lines and while frontiers seems interesting it’s still just gonna be “more destiny”. Also hot take, prismatic ruined this game.
