Always on the back foot. They need far better management, better talent, and better leadership. Talk is cheap. This is about winning, and losing. USA sailed well and as a Kiwi boatbuilder I really like the thinking behind your boat design. I will however point out that since the USA has not been able to manipulate the rules, sometimes obscenely in their favour as in the past they have fallen short on a level playing field. Hope to see you guys back in the next cup cycle.

Fundamentally this is a technology race. Team NZ learnt a very hard lesson in San Francisco and became infinitely better because of it. I’m not so sure the other teams have really learnt that lesson yet.

He's not emotional. He's a BS artist. He lacks the skills to lead a team at this level. He's just a swampy political consultant to NYYC, who hasn't won since 1980 and will never win again because they don't have the spirit to win.
