    we have to realize we need cvt alike apparel in order to steer. in this case, hydraulic transmission. maybe would be easier to just use to hydraulic motors and no gears. well, three because you neead an hydraulic turbine also. or, as in this case as input is electric, just two electric motors with no alternator/electric turbine.

  • @Xayuap
    @Xayuap 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    3 differential + gearbox must be the inneficientiest thing ever. maybe would be better to use an alternator + 2 electric motors and no gears. maybe even hydraulic transmission would do better.

    The diagram at 0.22 I find best explains it, but I mean, for the steering input, does it have to be a higher RPM to steer it, or can just a person turning a wheel turn it?

      the drives to the engine go through the differential, it stops one of the drives, after which the transmission goes through the satellites

      Usually used as part of a hydrostatic transmission. The main drive is basically like an automatic car transmission and the lesser 'steering' drive comes from a hydraulic motor.

    Clever enough, but I don't see it being really practical for anything. I mean, so you can make RC cars that use differential steering? Can't you just use motors at each wheel and do the same? Besides, half the fun is a car that drives like the real thing. And I certainly don't see this catching on for use in normal automobiles anytime soon!

    • @satibel
      @satibel 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      for an rc car/tank, you can use a small-ish servo for steering, and an ICE for power.

    This principle of turning is just for trucked vehicles, but does it used in wheeled vehicles before as normal prototype vehicle?

    • @MFKR696
      @MFKR696 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Skidsteers use wheels in pretty much the same fashion that a tracked vehicle would, but the wheels on a skidsteer are driven by hydraulic motors, 1 per side, at least on the older ones, so there's no need for a poly-diff system on them, especially considering that skidsteers don't even use transmissions. The engine powers a hydraulic pump, which is piped out directly to the hydraulic manifold(s.) I've been informed that newer skidsteers have a motor for every wheel, though. Steering methods like the one in the video are used in wheeled vehicles all the time though, like in those amphibious Gator UTVs that have 6 wheels on them.
