I understand the urge to read James Baldwin. In August I was interested in picking up another one of his books and I read The Fire Next Time. I gave it 5 stars and it made me cry. I have two more books on my physical TBR but I’m trying to space them and only read them when the timing is right.
@@alena4ever123 oh I love that, spreading out books by an author you love is sooo hard, I’m currently doing it with Mary Oliver ! I’m definitely going to have to pick up The Fire Next Time soon :-)

Omg I’ve been to Powell’s once. I actually was visiting Portland years ago and just walking around and stumbled upon Powell’s not knowing that it’s the largest indie in the USA!! I was so excited
@@amandajune97 it’s such an exciting place to stumble upon !! They have so many cool things and obviously an unreal amount of books 🤗 I could wander for hours !!

I'm also in a bit of a reading slump right now, it sucks! I read Down the Drain last year and found it quite enveloping. Have you read Garlic and the Vampire by Bree Paulsen? It and the sequel, Garlic and the Witch are really cute graphic novels. Brought my mood up when I read them, hopefully it will do the same for you.
The slump has been rough but, I just finished Dow the Drain and really really enjoyed it ! I haven’t read those books, but I’ll definitely have to look into them, I haven’t read a lot of graphic novels but am definitely getting into them, thank you for the rec :-)

I love Mary Oliver! Definitely recommend Devotions by her. I don't know if you're looking for suggestions on your channel, but in case you do - the audio is really low on this video, I'd look into getting a better mic or increasing the volume when you edit the audio :) I also find it very helpful when booktubers leave a picture of the book they're talking about up on the screen!

i really liked watching this video while crocheting something myself :) + i would definetly reccomend you to watch heart stopper, its really close to the graphic novel and i think the 2nd season is coming out this summer
