Thanks for the video. What size MT frame is the largest you can fit back there with a tailgate pad? I ride an XL and am not sure it will fit back there.

It looked like you missed the top part of the Unchained where you start on desire and can build up some speed at the top to carry through that section more. Also you need to run this trail a few times to learn how to carry speed on it. Once you figure out how to use the outside of the trails natural berms, rocks and roots to help you to rail a turn you can really keep speed through those turns. That turns the level of fun up 10x.

Great info!!! My wife loves snowboarding and i want to introduce her to MTB, but she is really hesitant to take her hard tail on off-road descents (she's probably looked over my shoulder when I was cackling at Friday Fails and thinks that is what she's in for!). Its really helpful to hear your wife's point of view. Georges sounds like a great starting point. Appreciate it!

Charlie, get a rubber head mallet?......they work just as good as a real hammer without the noise, somewhat......i guess you could get a dead blow hammer but i think they are a little noisier .......good mechaniking

Since everybody has advice ...it seems like you might be trying to prove you are a Real Mountain Biker. We're almost all guilty. We're blessed with this super fun activity we get to do in a beautiful setting and we feel the need to measure our d*cks constantly. Who's fastest? Who's least afraid of injury? Same thing happens in snow sports. ( Ha basically any time males of the species get around each other!) If you're not careful it can suck all the fun right out. And of course, there's the injury thing. I'm super competitive when it comes to field sports and overt competition. But when it comes to skiing and mtb I do my best to suppress my ego and ride for my own pure enjoyment. Ok what's the saying , opinions are like a**holes, we've all got em and they all stink! Not my place to tell you how to ride. But I assure you, even the noobest nooby noob has zero to prove. "Comparison is the thief of joy". GL.

I have duck feet. I ride my road bike with Crank Bros Egg Beaters with quick release cleats. The quick release provides float so my feet can swivel. and stay attached to the pedals.

I had similar issue.. foot turned outwards, outside part of the knee hurting when forcing it to be strait when on a bike. But I am going different route, I am doing exercises, and intentionally thinking about straitening my food even while walking. The progress has been really good so far, I even finished my first bike race few weeks ago with minimal knee pain.

Interesting stuff. I had the same issue on one leg, you may have found my VeloNews article on the subject where I go into the road pedal systems I modified to try to fix things. I ended up actually having a surgical intervention to straighten my leg but oh boy did I go deep down the rabbit hole of other solutions before I went nuclear.

Yes. My feet point out notably. I just point the forward tips of my cleats inward, so that they are straight in the pedals when my feet are in their natural to them pointed out position. Getting out is no problem

You ain't kidding about Bradbury! One of the worst bruises I've ever had was from low siding my bike off a slippery root and landing on my hip.
