Alex Wrestling Meet 12-11-13 vs. Thompson
From 3-10-1 in 1969 to 10-4 in 1970
Imagine if The Orange Bowl still had a grass surface in that near hurricane. The Orange Bowl replaced the grass with the infamous Poly Turf in 1970.
And went back to grass in 1976
I could watch Warfield all day long ❤
Gruneisen and Sweeney came to my elementary school in Chula Vista in about 1967 or so...we had an assembly to hear them speak in the auditorium. Then we stood in line to shake their hands. I went to Gruneisen's line, he had the biggest meat hook hands I had ever seen. Life was sure fun in the 60s.
One thing this TEAM has all ways had , was a great QB ! Jack kemp , John HadL, Dan Fouts , Drew Brees , P. Rivers & now this kid Herbert ! Few teams can match this QB run form 1960 till now ? Bears are STILL looking & the Loins have had only 1 great QB in there history & he is playing for the Rams, now .
Healthy Broadway Joe may have been the goat.
Lance Alworth, the goat charger and possibly the goat wide receiver.
Number 45 Leslie “speedy” Duncan was my 7th grade PE teacher rest in peace champ💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛
Lance Allworth ❤
Every reference I see to Keith Lincoln lists his # as 22, not 31. No one is listed as 31 in 1968. Did they just give him a different # when he came back, and no one remembered to write this down? Funny, but one of the few times I remember a RB getting his jersey torn up and then wearing another player's jersey was with the '67 Chargers. My recollection is he "borrowed" the jersey of Dick Van Raaphorst, who was the kicker. The announcers kind of made a big deal out of it. I swear I remember the player as Russ Smith, but given how many carries he had that year it seems more likely it was Hubbert. Of course it looks like Lincoln didn't play enough for something like this to have happened to him. Curious.
This was late Don Shula's lst season as Dolphins' head coach as he'd launch 26-season tenure w/that club leading them to 15 post-season appearances
B.T.W., late Don Shula was originally from Clev., Ohio
Don Shula made an immediate impact in 1970 for the Miami dolphins.
Classic Chargers like the jazzy 60's music 🎶🎶
Minute 1:30 man put him in a strqngle hold
1970 - the first and only year the poly-turf held up. By 1971, the rug looked bare.
Didn't hold up well in that Miami heat and humidity. Should have just left it as grass.
i was at the game when keith lincoln was injured. i also recall "fumble fingers Foster"
Those were some beautiful uniforms.
Love the old unis
“Ugly face of defeat” 😂
KEITH LINCOLN WAS MY FAVORITE RUNNING BACK . HE AND PAUL LOWE MADE UP A GREAT BACKFIELD . I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THE CHAMPIONSHIP WAS NOT IN THE CARDS FOR THEM
In his book, call me assassin, Jack Tatum, said Lance Allworth was the only receiver he could not intimidate…
Wow....Curly Johnson , the teams punter !! 7:42
8:08 dolphins vs eagles
R.I.PPP.+PPP. JOHN FACENDA=>😇🌟🤌💎🏈🎙🤌💎...Will NEVER be another comes close to him ~ very blessed & thankful today to remember him well !
Playing Saints back then was cure for what ailed a team
A get right team for everyone
Dolphins won 10 games in there 5th year . Saints took 20 to accomplish it . Difference in owners the reason
their
Their owner is why Csonka, Kiick and Warfield left for the WFL
The start of the great era of Dolphins football..
No, that's football
Sad to see Keith Lincoln's career end like that..... led the Bolts to their only championship in 1963....
It is sad the way Lincoln's career ended. It's weird to see him wearing #31 even though I understand considering Dick Post wore Lincoln's old #22.
What's with the mud in the playoff game in Oakland?
Rain
They couldnt beat oakland with a bazooka. Exc. 73 afc championship
1:48 “The run-scoring machine?” Is this baseball? How did the editors and world-class announcer Charlie Jones just flat out miss this?
Good catch! I missed that!
Scoring by running the ball is what they meant?
Stuff it.
Lovely video thank you
Nice video thanks for sharing
So many years of Warfield only catching 27-29 passes for Miami, but so many for TDs; One of the greatest deep threats ever. 20 ypc in his career.
Possibly the best ever running after the catch, I’d add.
Paul Warfield's originally from City, Warren, Ohio/is still currently living. He's in his early-80s now
B T W , City, Warren, Ohio's located in N.E. part, "Buckeye State" on banks, Mahoning River, 17 mi. from Youngstown, Ohio
Long live the sd chargers ⚡️🏉
Hadl threw a pretty pass
George Pernicano with the 'stache and stogie at 3:30 - Pernicano's in San Diego was a go to place!
Yes great place
I can watch 1966 - 1976 NFL football over and over and over again. 1980 and beyond and its just not the same.
Oh, so Dan Fouts , K . Winslow , C . Joiner , W . Chandler were TRASH ? They, just LIKE those 196's teams fail, over & over in the Play offs, SEEMS the SAME to me ? Ok, 1963 a AFL title out of what 5 chances ? We did make our ONLY Super Bowl , all be it , VRS the BEST 49ers team at those times 1980's to mid 1990's ? PS and those 1972 to 1977 teams were TRASH teams for the most parts ? HadL was good in 1972 , but, not great , Fouts 1976 , Rickey Young 1976 & 1977 and that was about it for those teams
@@robertd.7060 WHO said Fouts, Joiner, Chandler (you left out JJ) were "trash"?
Nice
Old School Chargers nice
maybe maybe not
yes we are
shoots and scores
ggggggggoooooooooaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllll
