I have lived my entire life with the mind set of don't buy what you can build yourself ... and I have built quite a few things ... everything from a 16 foot bass boat to a fully self contained teardrop camper ... not too mention all of the little things along the way. When you build something yourself, not only does it save you money, you also build it better, it will last longer, you enjoy it more and if anything ever breaks you will know exactly how to fix it (saving you even more). I hope that this channel can be your inspiration because you can do it too!

I finished my teardrop last year. Your video was a large part of my inspiration . It turned out awesome. A lot smaller but every bit as spiecal. It’s a organ Batman teardrop design

How and what did you use for the exterior trim
I lovethe curved trim im trying to figure out how you did it. Is it plywood cut back
No, it is not plywood ... it's solid Ash. I used my full sized side template to line out the inside curve and overcut the width by 1\4 inch and then used a flush trim router bit on the outer edge once it was mounted.

Need to know where you got the fenders
The fiberglass fenders were purchased from www.teardroptrailers.com and believe it or not they are actually made by an optometrist in Washington state ... nice hobby.
I need to know as well but it's something else. Sorry. I need to know where you bought the trailer template, please? I also need to know. The wood material that you used in building your trailer, where did purchase it?

I’m also slightly curious why you went with prefabricated doors? I bet you could have made a beautiful door to match the camper?
Purchased mattress on Amazon... queen size 8 inch thick foam ... had to unbox rather quick as its expansion was almost instantaneous. As for the doors... I went with purchased doors rather than building my own as I felt there would be less of a chance of leakage ... mission accomplished!

Thank you for sharing. I’ve been fortunate enough in my life to see some of these places. Though your photography is impeccable, they just don’t catch it like seeing it with your eyes. I just hope more people can be afforded the opportunity I had to see these same places. Again, thank you so much for sharing, and great job on the teardrop.
I’m definitely not good at doing this kind of thing. I could build a camper, but it definitely wouldn’t come out like this. Some people have it like that, others don’t.
It looks beautiful. How have the hurricane hinges faired? I watched another guy struggling to seal his top hung door with several different hinges including a hurricane and they all leaked so he ripped it apart and changed to cargo doors.
The hurricane hinge has worked flawlessly ... been in some hellacious downpours ... not one drop of water has been observed anywhere inside the galley or cabin. Hurricane hinges work fantastic but they have to be installed properly where they overhang the side walls otherwise water will always find its way inside.
Well thought out design and your fit and finish is superb 👏 This is the highest complement that I can think of from a finish carpenter. I would like to build one of these trailers but the wiring and plumbing makes me crazy. :-) I hope that you enjoy this little treasure for many years.

Looks nice, cabinets could've been done differently for better use of space and maybe increase the headroom in the trailer might've helped.

What are the dimensions of the trailer?
The trailer is a 5x8 ... the overall dimensions of the teardrop is 5x9 and 6 feet tall.
