We're Paul, Tan and our beloved Toyota Troopy, currently on a massive adventure exploring Australia
BIG HOLES, CRAZY WINDS and some SURPRISING SCENIC STOPS! #overlanding #australia
From blowholes, petrified forests, snakes and a pretty scary looking hole, we continue with our travels along the coast as we brave some pretty crazy winds.

Hi Paul and Tan,great video guys, yes we heard that the Grampians had fires in the Halls Gap area(.( Bummer for you ). Hope you both have a very merry troopy Xmas and hoping to see you both back in 2025.cheers deb🎉
Hi Deb, Our diversion from the Grampians wasn’t from this lot of bushfires…but a little while ago. It seems like this happens quite a lot from that area. We will definitely get back there in the future. Hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year. don’t worry we will certainly be back in 2025. There’s already heaps happening and can’t wait to share it all with you guys!
Thanks for watching Legends! What’s the most diverse ‘unearthly’ landscape you’ve visited in your travels?
Cheers for watching Guys! Have you ever had plans that have changed due to some unexpected event? Share them below 👇🏼 and thanks for supporting our channel ❤
Hi paul and Tan, GOR is so beautiful. Cant wait to travel there. You picked the right spots to show us. Thanks again for your wonderful video. Cheers deb.😊
Hi Deb, always great to hear from you and glad you enjoyed it! Some incredible coastline right there! ☺️
Cape Otway Lighthouse isn't Australia's most southernmost point, South Point Wilson's Promontory is Australia's most southern point
Thanks for watching! Also thanks for pointing that out, I didn't make it very clear. It was Australia's most southerly lighthouse when it was built, as it was built before Wilson's Prom, and is now Australia's oldest surviving lightstation. It's been a faithful servant that's for sure!
And that's just the mainland.
@@GaryNoone-jz3mq thanks so much for watching. We got to visit the South Bruny Island Lighthouse in Tasmania, which is the southernmost on the land. We have a bit of a fascination for lighthouses and bridges! So much history ☺️
Thanks for watching! What’s your fave spot on the GOR?
@EscapingCrowds i love doing the GOR, the views are awesome, my favourite spot would have to be the cliffs
@EscapingCrowds I love driving the GOR, the views are awesome, my favourite spot would have to be the cliffs
@ agreed! That whole stretch is something special!
Totally agree about cities … best view of any city is in the rear view mirror! Wilson’s Prom is one of my favourite places … back there again next week taking my grandson for his first Prom experience. The walking bridge over Tidal River that you crossed was closed last week (solo trip for me) due to engineering report. Looking forward to your upcoming Victorian videos!
Hi Jenny and thanks for watching! The Prom is beautiful and it was our first time so can guarantee we’ll get back there at some point. It was incredibly busy when we were there so hoping next time to go off season. We have loved Victoria and made some vids before we headed to Tassie that are already published on the channel, but there’s also more to come. Enjoy your time at the prom with your grandson, we’re sure it will be the first of many visits with him. 😊
Beautiful. We are big fans of the Great Ocean Road.
Thanks for watching! We love it too. Australia has the best coastline in the world, in our opinion!
Point break wasnt actually filmed at bells beach, they used a beach in oregon USA and called it bells beach australia. Hope you enjoyed the GOR, lots of free camping
Thanks for watching! Also thanks for letting us know hahaha! We always thought that Bodhi disappeared into the surf at our Bell's Beach, no wonder we couldn't find him! 🤣
Hi paul and Tan, great Ocean Rd drive is beautiful but a bit hairy in parts. It's been years since we have been right through the ocean rd.very nice. Great video. Cheers deb
@ Hi Deb, what a sensational drive it has been so far. So much to see with places to stop all along the way. Australia’s coastline is truly wonderful. ☺️
Thanks for watching Guys! Have you ever camped in a spot that you're not sure about? Was it worth it?
How can you talk slow when you just goy back from Tassis
Thanks again for watching! Not complaining about the road at all, we had a few people ask us about Turton's Track so we just wanted to let them know what it was like...a slow but beautiful drive. It reminded us a lot of the Tassie roads, which we loved too. ☺
Great video. Wondering if the BBQ box could be used to carry fire wood instead? Or, some dirty / wet stuff you don’t want in the car? Love your troopy, great build!
Cheers for watching mate. You definitely could use it for storage but would need to be mindful of the angle the lid comes down when closing. Would probably need to put stuff in a bag or similar so it doesn't all fall out as the bottom part of the box is quite shallow.
That wombat looked like it had mange, hope ya didn't touch it. Nastey condition...
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it! The baby wombat was very wet so maybe that was why his fur looked a bit strange. He looked fairly healthy…he was just thirsty and enjoying the water we think 😊
Hi paul and Tan, great video, lm the same with the city's. Adelaide would be the better choice of cities so far. I've never been to Wilson's prom yet. Enjoy your trip. Cheers deb
Morning Deb! Give us the open roads with views for days and we’re happy. Thanks as always for watching 😊
Can I make a suggestion of a wirless microphone. Dji mic 2 or Rode as in the rig, it's hard to hear you. The wind sock is also great if you have the window down or its windy out side.
Thanks for your suggestion. We have recently purchased a DJI Mic 2 and are happy with the results. Thank you for watching 😊
I love the high-quality video! The music of the intro is a bit high, covering your voice-over.
Thanks for watching and also for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the video. Paul and Tan
Hi guys, welcome to Oz. Gee the the boat leaves late. Looked like the day was nice for you. Can't wait for the next video. Cheers deb
Hi Deb, it was a long day, but would highly recommend the night sail. Slept all the way back and it was comfy too. Now for more adventures! Thanks for watching!
Hey guys, great video. Is it possible you could add the link to the ebay purchase of the USB C 20m cable? There are heaps available and would love to buy one that someone can vouch for! Thanks heaps.
Hi and cheers for watching. We haven’t actually used it yet as we haven’t needed to place the dish away from the troopy. The cable itself appears to be good quality although I have been told that there could be some voltage drop over 20m when using 12V. I can’t say if that’s the case as yet. Here’s the link. www.ebay.com.au/itm/296689212362
From that link you can select the length you want.
@@EscapingCrowds where did you post the link? Sorry I cannot see it :/

@DebbieBuck-v1h Hi Deb! What a ride Tasmania has been for us! We know there’s so much more to see and do, and we’ll be back for sure! A fabulous cruse the Pieman, way better than the Gordon. You get 11/2 hr to explore the Heads and wild beach.
Thanks for watching and supporting our channel. It was a shame that we didn’t go on the Pieman cruise, we just didn’t have time. How fantastic are the river systems in Tasmania? We’ve been told it’s a good cruise so definitely next time 👍🏼

Hiya Deb! We’re thankful we didn’t have wet limestone tracks. They’re pretty bad! We are really sad to be finishing our Tasmanian chapter next video, but we’ve got heaps more to share with you. Tasmania has been an absolute highlight of our lap so far. Where is your most memorable place to visit in Tasmania?
Tasmania really is a beautiful place, even better when you got a nephew that lives there as well

Thanks Deb! Glad you’re enjoying the vids. Pretty sure there are lots of people that travel around Tassie with dogs, and pet sitters are kept pretty busy! It’s just an amazing place! Cheers for watching, as always 🫶🏼
Comment below on your favourite tourist hotspot in Tasmania!
Hi. Good review. We just bought one. How have you found the 50gb plan? We aren't on the road full time but have elderly parents in ill health and need to be able to be contacted. Another silly question - do you use Messenger or Facetime or Whats App to make phone calls? We presume you just can't ring lie usual. Thanks for doing a review. Helped us to decide.
Hi, thanks for watching. 50gb has been fine so far but if you do a lot of streaming/downloading it probs won’t be enough. We fully expected to have to upgrade to the unlimited plan but we’ve been able to avoid it so far. Using iPhone with wifi calling turned on in your mobile settings you can just use the phone as normal. We’ve also used FaceTime. Hope that helps.
Great video.
@@anthonybennett3434 thanks Mate! Appreciate you watching!
@@EscapingCrowds Quick question . Do you still have the original matress in your truck or have you upgraded it? If so with what? I have the same set up in mine and i find it a bit uncomfortable.
@@anthonybennett3434 No we swapped it for a Slumberest Mattress from BCF and have added a topper. I don't think any mattress at 70mm can be perfect.

Hi there, thanks again for another great video, omg that was a experience. Looked like a rock avalanche stood still. Tazzie has so many surprises around every corner. Cheers deb
Morning Deb! Thanks as always for watching! We really loved it, although there may have been a couple of moments where we wondered what the heck we were doing 😂 what an incredible place!
That track to Mt Barrow looks like a good fun track
😂 it had us worried a couple of times! Cheers for watching 👍🏼
Hi there, fantastic video, good to see paul is doing OK. What a fantastic camp site. Makes me jealous. You do get the winds in taz this time of the year. We can't wait to get down there next year. We have just had a lot of rain and thunder, hail, in mt gambier where we live..keep up your great work. Cheers Deb
Hi there Deb! Thanks, as always, for watching and Paul is all good. It didn’t slow us down too much and we think sometimes it’s good to stop and smell the roses instead of racing from place to place. We have visited Mt Gambier a few times in our travels. Thanks again for your support and comments! 😊
Hey guys, loving the videos, just wondering how many Gopro's do you have
Hi Gavin, we have two but only really use one. The Go Pro 12 is awesome! ☺️ Thanks for the positive vibes and for supporting our channel. We love sharing our travels with our audience ☺️
@EscapingCrowds I've got the Gopro 11, and I find it really good
You should drop into Mt William nat Park for a night on your way, very similar to Waterhouse , stumpy Bay camp grounds , amazing view, but yes water is freezing, love your work, can't wait to come back to Tasmania!
Thanks for watching! We’ll add that to the never ending list of magical places in Tassie! 😊
watch out guys, the flying of drones in gov controlled areas in tas. is not permitted.
We originally thought that the drone restriction was for national parks only but since realised it was also for conservation areas too. We got this one wrong! 😔
you guys are in the best state in Aust. i have been there 6 times. I am from Perth. enjoy as I have
Hi, and thanks for watching. We are also from Perth, just enjoying travelling around the country currently. There’s nothing quite like Tasmania though! Just spectacular 😍
On our first big trip in our camper trailer (10) days, my husband missed a step and hurt his foot. A month later, still sore, thought he should get it checked. Broken. Moon boot was his Christmas present .
Oh no! That’s awful! Lucky he got it checked out! Paul was fortunate it was just a nasty sprain. It sure did turn black and blue 😂
I'm impressed with Tam driving the manual troopy ! Love tassie so much natural beauty and no crowds !
Cheers Sandy. We agree with you! Tassie is next level when it comes to magical scenery. The troopy is awesome to drive and I (Tan) don’t get to drive it often so I made the most of this situation 😂 thanks for watching!
Hi paul l hope you have a speedy recovery, ah! And you do a good job with filming with the go pro. What a beautiful area you are taking us through..cheers deb
Thanks Deb, all is okay with the ankle now! Thanks for your kind words, we really enjoy sharing our travels and are happy that you are enjoying the vids.

I love the way tasmania parks and wildlife do there park permits, and they manage their parks better than any other state , in my opinion
It all seemed to be pretty streamlined and we’d have to agree that their parks are so well managed with boardwalks, and other amenities. Well done Tasmania Parks! 👍🏼 Thanks for watching our video 😊
Great video, what was innisfail like ? My family and I are emigrating to innisfail in a few months for work. We are from the uk. Looking forward to the change 😊
We absolutely loved that whole area in far North Queensland. Could have easily stayed there for longer. There are so many things to see and do, all not too far from Innisfail. Pretty sure it’s sugar cane country and that is another spectacular thing to see. I can get pretty warm, but what a spot! Hope you love it! You will love Australia! It’s one amazing place!
My husband sets Google maps and within minutes begins and argument with 'her'. Every time😂😂😂😂😂
Haha! Totally agree, she's so frustrating! Only use it as a last resort cos it's less stressful! Thanks for watching! Paul and Tan
