I sleep with a bed against the wall which is right under both the electrical panel AND subpanel, exposed. I was first time renter and didn't know this could murder me if it decides to explode, spark, light on fire and in turn light me and the bed on fire. Not to mention the size leaves me escaping difficult. They didn't even say anything about it CAUSE THEY HID IT BEHIND A PAPER PAINTING. Great fun. Also someone said the panels are outdated on top of it meaning it has a greater risk of starting a fire. How was I suppose to know all this? Tired of this sneaky shit being the norm. Sad part is where I live this is rampant and scams/illegal suites are everywhere with these 'botched' 'suites'. Honestly the gov should pay civilians to rat these places out and pay us. I'd take 1000 to absolutely rat this illegal shit show to the gov, and every future one till they all are forced out. Bet the gov ain't too happy about the tax breaks and all illegal funds being tossed around because of these places not getting shut down. Sad state of things. I'm in canada bc. Learning about inspection stuff is important to renters since we get taken advantage of CONSTANTLY because we don't actually know what is a safety issue/illegal. Some people putting kids in rooms with whole walls that are moldy. Never mind a electrical box issue. Thank you for show this! Helps us little guys who don't know anything learn our rights!

They embezzled money from me in Alberta, too. I await an investigation by the Real Estate Council of Alberta, RECA. RentPerks doesn't have the geographical reach they claim on their website. I researched them and wrote about it in this Reddit post, which has garnered over 100,000 page views and was shared 100 times: www.reddit.com/r/RealEstateCanada/comments/1anslhp/how_i_fell_for_the_rentperks_property_management/ I looked them up with the Secretary of State in each U.S. state they claim to be operating. They do not exist there. Their business licenses were revoked, lapsed or rescinded in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia in 2023. They were penalized in BC and Alberta. RentPerks is using third-parties like you on the internet to give them credibility to lure victims. Please take down your posts featuring them.
