I have come to this clip because I have a similar thing with a woman at my work. We keep bumping into each other. I said to her `are you following me`. She said `you wish`. I said `I do`.

This scene has stayed in my head since I was a kid.

According to Jane Leeves, Daphne may have had a crush on Niles but didn't think it was mutual since he preferred the finer things in life and she was more lower class. That's why she played off his flirting as merely being friendly. Being dumped by his doppelganger probably didn't help either. To find out that not only did she have a shot, but that he loved her, came as a huge shock for her.

Love that scene. Ah yes, chemistry.

I love this scene so much. So close, but yet so far away for Niles and Daphne at this stage.

My husband of 39 years asked me to marry him with that line. “What are you doing the rest of your life?”

Niles and Daphne was an absolute masterclass in how to write your characters without falling into the same old tropes. So glad they eventually got together but also thoroughly enjoyed the years of Niles dancing around Daphne while she was completely oblivious to his affections.

This is one of my all time favorite episodes of Frasier and this is the absolute best scene. Never get tired of it.

A genuinely heart-breaking moment the first time you watch it.

Heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Displays the unmatched gentleness and patience that true love requires. A joy to rewatch 😍

DHP is just the greatest. What an impeccable performance he brought to this character. The best love story in all of television.

David and Jane have truly magical chemistry. They make you root for Niles and Daphne endlessly.

The show creators/writers really played the character arcs between these two perfectly... they didn't ruin the show's chemistry by getting them together too soon, nor did they wait too long to bring them together, as we had enough of a payoff for the last few seasons... very few missteps throughout this show's run.

I was rooting for Niles to tell Daphne “No, not Maris”, let that sink in with her for a few seconds and make his move.

Jane Leeve's acting! She reads the scripts and knows the story arc but still plays the innocent object of desire perfectly. David HP is of course brilliant, but JL matches him.

I always loved the way he fell for Daphne from the instant he met her. I love seeing a man so in love.

Perhaps my favorite scene in Frasier.

I must be getting old and soft, because I always feel like crying when Niles says he loves Daphne.

Add to the fact a year later she goes to his job to show how good she's doing and not only that says that she's getting married. I'm telling you Drew gets the asshole and ex boyfriend treatment when he himself is not that kind of guy to have that kind of luck with women in the first place. Stuff like this is another way of saying nice guys finish last bad guys and assholes have a blast life's not fair deal with it.
