It never collects much with the vacuum for me but there is attachments that get in close to the blade on etsy
@@NeanderthalDogma it’s not the best for sure but it does better than no collection. I’ve thought about 3d printing some upgrades but I haven’t got around to it.
Funny timing. I posted the short video of the edger this morning too. We must be in sync...
@@lovesloudcars yeah good timing 😂
Why didn't you use duct tape?
@@lovesloudcars thought about it. Then thought baler wire
Same goes with whit..
@@lovesloudcars 😂😂
There needs to be a whole bunch of sawmill videos this summer. Its going to be August in 38 seconds.
Slow and steady wins the race . I find if I have to push hard it is time to stop and sharpen and or switch to a newly sharpened chain . I run Archer ripping chains and have had good luck with them . Stihl 661 saw
@@rodneygregory3990 good to know. I have a band mill too so this really only comes out on special occasions
You need a bar oiler to add extra oil to the bar so it doesn't overheat.
@@ButterMILKY-dn3op I think it was more the cutting speed. Same set up with a ripping chain didn’t smoke at all a wider cut.
I don't get it. Been doing this stuff for over 60 years and I cannot understand how you can machine your table flat using a spindle that is mounted to a not very rigid axis that is mounted to a table that is not very flat. Now when you tram the table I think you are just checking how closely the spindle followed the not flat table? please help!
@@joen2816 flat enough for woodworking is a lot different than flat enough for machining
@@Hatchmade OK. So what is flat enough for woodworking? Just asking.
I have a feeling that's why my onefinity came with such small screws to hold it down.
I think I know what to do I will try it it and let you know.
I really like this machine and I want it to be right.
Awesome hubs
@@childofspiritualisrael7280 thanks
Not enough bar oil makes it smoke and get hot. Pine is easy to cut. Rip chains r best for slabbing
Because they're not as noisy.
@@lovesloudcars true. But this stuff was way easier to cut with the angle grinder 😂

After years of having a garden I'm just learning about this and Purslane and Chickweed. I actually like this better than the Purslane. I'm about to make a spinach salad with all of them in it.
@@danieldecker4597 thanks for watching. It’s amazing how much food is there that we just throw out. Little dandelion greens are great and the roots are great fried up or roasted.
@Hatchmade What is your favorite? This is information that could save your life someday. I'm about to learn as much as I can.
@@danieldecker4597 My favorite wild plant to eat? Probably blue berries, or my favourite way to eat dandelions? probably pull up the plant, trim off the root and any large leaves and a quick saute, they are delicious that way. I should probably do a video about that.
And just exactly what was it I was supposed to learn from this, I mean besides that it was werid.
I guess the lesson was lost on you
Do what? DO WHAT. WHAT AM I DOING…..
Something that other people think is weird but you enjoy.
I love being a weird 😊❤ Unique awesomeness 👌
Being weird is usually pretty good 😂
@@Hatchmade Tbf the most "normal" people seem to be pedos, rapists or serial killers nowadays anyway rofl...
Where was this& what were the things you were collecting?
Just south of GP before we went south. There was alder catkins, gallium truflorum, learned a bunch about fireweed, and a bunch of other ones.
Old school machines run forever 😊❤
The good ones do for sure.
Awesome
Thanks. It’s pretty cool to see old machines running again.
People are used to square sawing everything. Way faster to use an edger.
Absolutely.

I can’t place it.

I need to cut some tamarack for a floor in the dump box with that machine. What i really need, is a job where I only run 3 or 4 days a week.
Yeah. You need to show me what you want cut and I can do it next time I’m there.
You better be making a longer version of this to tell the story about it! ( you could also let your young teenage son use it & loose it before the weekend is out....
Yeah. He’s not touching it.
A regular Paul Bunyon.
No thanks tires
I made the same but, need to make a base for it otherwise the ending of the cut won't be good
Yeah. There’s definitely a few improvements to be made on this one.
did this with a 4 tier, ill see if i need to redo slides in 5 years like a milwaukee box
😂 hopefully not.
Old tires will slowly leak oils & nasty chemicals into the ground. Do NOT do this esp. with children invovled.
Well. Better than burning them to roast hotdogs on.
I should buy one of those brush mowers! Could I use that one?
Anytime you want to borrow it, just make sure you return it 😀
I think you'll regret cutting it that close to the shoulder of the road. It will settle and spread over time and a foot more on each end would help in a few years.
Yeah. I thought I’d cut it a little longer than I had.
Why didn't you spread it with the gravel truck instead of dumping it and then spreading it with the tractor? There must be easier ways to get videos..
😂 probably
Yikes. Have fun!
Always 😂
There's no such thing as too much gravel- except when you are paying for it.
Agreed
You scored major points with that build. Her tears said it all. I love the natural walnut. So simple and elegant- perfect!!
Thanks for watching. The walnut really did make it look good.
Very nice! What on earth made you think I'd enjoy seeing THAT?
Wild guess
Fun to watch, and especially good to see around on a wet year.
Yeah. The girls were pretty enthralled
Just need a bigger hammer!
When I had a 4 foot snipe on the Wrench and it didn’t budge after spraying it down with wd40 I figured it was time to cut it off
New pump?
Yep. Bought it from building supplies
It's not too short now!
Nope
Best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago - plan now for 20 years ahead
Exactly
When's the best time for a young boy to forget about not running over that area with the lawnmower? The day after!
That’s why we flagged them all
They do make auto fill things to screw on the gas can. For oil and for gas. They automaticly fill exact to the max. Its the Stihl 0000 890 5005.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing. I think I’ll just buy other oil though😂
Sharpen chain, then immediately puts it in the ground
You know what you can do when you’re cutting garbage on the ground? Sharpen the chain again…
Also… it never touched the ground.
@@Hatchmade garbage?
Runs really good just that adjustment
Yeah. I’ve never had any issues with it aside from breaking the pull cord once.
That particular model I don't like.. the easy adjustment isn't necessary
Agreed. It gets a little jammed up.
😊😊😊
Thanks for watching.
There is no way your Stihl started on the second pull. lol
😂 magic of editing. It took 5 or 6
@Hatchmade I knew it was to good to be true. I love my Stihl chain saw, but it does take a few pulls.
@@plattevalleywoodworks5075 especially this soft start one. Once it’s warm it’s great but the first start takes a few.
An interesting stick color...
Yeah. The whole machine is a little bit different. It’s an odd size of machine as well.
