    • @jacquelyngravina1169

      Yes, K2 helps because it helps the calcium stick to the bones as a binder. Many people aren’t aware of this, so be sure to check with your doctors.

      Herb - My mother had terrible osteoporosis. The last fracture was in two areas of her femur. The doc said no more because he couldn’t place pins or plates in her again. She was that bad. She was the poster child of it. No calcium growing up. Slight, Caucasian, 100 pounds, smoker, drinker, not much exercise, bad diet. If you catch it very, very early, ( this is called osteopenia) you might be able to reverse it. Perhaps that is what your mom had. As a rule no. There is also a risk of it being hereditary. Milk and calcium products are necessary to keep bones healthy, along with vitamin D. There now also medications like Fosamax and Prolia to help it from getting worse. I worked for the same rheumatologist for 31 years so I know what I’m talking about. I’m glad your mom was able to turn around.

    • @jacquelyngravina1169
      @jacquelyngravina1169 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@susanedghill6597 Yes, that’s true, unless you have osteopenia, which is the forerunner to full blown osteoporosis. If you have osteopenia, there are also meds that can help. You need to catch it fairly quickly.

    Doctors neglect to inform females before it’s too late the importance of vitamin D , Zinc , B-12 and calcium through diet . This could have been avoided with better healthcare !

Prolia and Reclast are injections given by your doctor. Prolia is given every six months and Reclast every 1-2 years depending on the patient. These are usually for people after menopause.
