Shrewkfest, The Shrewsbury Ukulele Festival, started in July 2018 as an experiment to see how viable the idea would be. A small affair, more like a barn dance featuring local Ukulele groups it was very successful and prompted us to go for it!
2019 the festival had developed into something very exciting featuring a headline act - 'Phil Doleman' - reviews were excellent, we were set to expand looking to 2020 as being even better. Then covid struck. 2020 was cancelled most of the acts rolled their bookings over to 2021 which once again began to develop much excitement when another lockdown struck us down again. Once again all the acts agreed to roll their bookings over and so Shrewkfest 2022 went ahead - the rest is history, we had a huge range of very diverse acts from over 2 years of planning, providing entertainment for everyone, headlined by Peter Moss and Operalele. Shrewkfest continues to attract major talent and has become one of the UK's favourite Ukulele Festivals.
