I remember learning about her in Texas History. My teacher and coach started off by saying, "They didn’t include this part in the textbook."

When I was 15-16 I was with my family during a tour guide at the Alamo and it was at night and I saw a man in a top hat with a long black trench coat inside the gate. It was so scary!

I went to High School in Dallas in the 70's, where we had two years of Texas history...Ms. West was taught to us as a true heroine...a woman that had a pivotal role in Texas independence...she is sung about in the famous "Yellow Rose of Texas"...She is a Texas icon!!!!

I learned of this story in high school. My history teacher was surprised that i was the only student that fully understood the story about Emily D West. 😅 his face when i yelled out "wait they used a women to win the battles?" His face was shock and pride that ill never forget. 😅 💛🌹 it wasnt until now did i ever think of using yellow rose as a way to keep her name known. Well at least in my life. Our dearest Emily! I will forever request yellow roses in your honor! 🍻🤠💛🌹

I was at the Alamo when I was 10 on a vacation, I remember like yesterday I was in Jim Bowie’s room and I legit was hearing whispers and I definitely saw a 6 ft black shadow on the wall, I think it was Bowie but the freakiest experience I had was hearing footsteps on the roof and I was really confused when I went to tell the tour guide that there was a man in Bowie’s room and I was hearing walking around that I had a run in with either Bowie himself or Crockett

As a Native, we do not allow these spirits and all those beasts where we live! Those demons and spirits are NOT welcome!

Wrong Texas flags, first flag of Texas was blue with yellow star,the current flag didn't come about until a few years after independence. But jaun de Seguin fought against Texas in the second war because of discrimination against him and the Mexican Tejanos.

Why the west (especially USA) focuses squarely on Germany, but completely overlook Japanese monstrosities? The reason is even more disturbing then you might think: USA colluded with Japanese government to cover it up. They did prosecuted few prominent Japanese officers, but only those who commited war crimes against American soldiers from 1941 to 1945. Everything else was ignored or outright censored.

I do have to disagree with the 2nd point, as the Bomb was an aspect to the war ending. We do know that the combination of the Soviet invasion of Manchuria and the atomic bombs finally convinced Emperor hirohito to surrender. We also know that if the U.S Invaded Japan it would have taken years just to win on Kyushu with the estimate by the U.S Navy being that over japanease casualties including civillian and military would land between 3-5 million, with American casualties falling around 450k-1.25 million casualties. This is not to mention if the Soviets helped in the invasion. Which if they did you can add another million Soviet casualties and another 1-2 million japanease casualties. I think it would have been better to point out that it's not the only reason Japan surrender rather then saying they would have surrendered when they didn't show a single sign of surrendering. Still loved the VID❤

Fun fact: the US Army expected that the invasion of Japan would be so bloody that they ordered 500K Purple Hearts to be made, but as we know, the invasion never took place, but now they had AND STILL HAVE Purple Hearts from that original 500K batch. The US Army still gives out WW2 made Purple Hearts.

Germany lost cuz their ideological foundation was flawed, they only way they could win is if they werent nazis. You cant win a war when you deem part of your population savages, anothers as unfit, and at least half of your population as just child making machines

The real danger with not using the bomb is that it would have allowed the Soviets time to launch their own invasion, which would have left Japan divided like Germany. The Japanese would have fought fiercely but Stalin didn't really care about throwing his soldiers away for more territory.

Another Gen Z dork who doesn’t understand how nasty an attack on the Japanese home islands would have been for both sides. The Japanese could have fought a guerrilla war for years.
