    Just my opinion: I visited Malta 20 times between 1982 - 2000, but when I returned in 2015 I was heartbroken to see & feel the drastic changes caused since joining the European Union. Best way I can describe it - Malta's soul has been sold to the highest bidders. I feel for the Maltese people.

    As an adopted American just born child. My mom died at birth. Learned my parents were maltose. As a adult American I wish more information on my unknown heritage. Find some searching interesting. Now digging deeper yet am after the history of the Gelia lineage. This is so important.

    Fascinating islands. I first discovered them in September 2001 ... I started in Gozo and immediately fell in love. Then, on my third day, 9/11 unfolded and I was glad to be so far away from the USA. I am from Canada. I've been back twice since then and am overdue to return - hopefully very soon.

    Went in 1998. Toured the whole island and Gozo by hiring a car. There was nobody around, had the place to ourselves as everyone seemed to just stay in their hotels by the pool, which is such a shame as they missed out on everything. The food was gorgeous and, of course, back then it was pre euro so dirt cheap. Going back next month. Can't wait.

    I was shocked to learn that Malta is so racist that a person of color can't even walk down the street without being harassed and told to "go back to Africa" when one could be from anywhere, but Africa. How sad. I love to travel and I'm a history buff. I'm glad I found out before I wasted a ton of my hard earned US dollars to visit.

    • @maarukka58

      I am from Finland and sadly to tell but racism has decreased durin past two years all around the Europe like countries, Hungary, Germany, Norway and sadly in my country too here in Finland. Even us people who talk behalf immigrants get spat at and harassed by the group of racists called Soldier's of Odin. How ever my father his wife had two weeks Holiday in Malta and he told me they never again go there. It was their worst holiday ever in there,. He told local people were rude in Malta and the service there very bad. My father loved Greece, Spain and Turkey but their favourite country for Holiday always was Cyprus they made lots of friends among the local people.

      @Marilynn, I am sorry to hear of your experience. I am half Maltese and half Creole and a few weeks ago made a trip to Malta. I was warmly greeted by everyone I met. Regarding your experience all that I can say is there are rude and ignorant people everywhere and truly hope that you will give Malta and it's people another try.

      @andrewholland1390 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      no there is no longer a day ticket. a two hour ticket now costs €2 in summer and €1.50 in winter. or you can buy a 7 day unlimited pass for €21 or a 12 single journey card for €15. Also, ARRIVA are no longer the operator here as was shown in the video, the Maltese operation experienced unsolvable problems and thus the parent company ordered an early exit and handed back the operation to the government. From January 2014 a new company was formed to take over called Malta Public Transport which was then reprivatised in 2015, followed by a reboot and relaunch of the bus system which included the hugely revised new fare structure.
