If you are talking about the same Apple that I know, they are not getting cheaper. You said everything is getting cheaper, not true, especially when it comes to Apple upgrades. Your budget may allow you to pay those outrageous prices but most can’t afford to pay way over fair market value for Apple upgrades in this economy, especially with having to buy peripherals on top of the cost of the Mac mini, looks like their greed model is still in play, its ok to make a profit but it’s not ok to gouge loyal customers, but I guess that’s how you get to over a $3 trillion valuation. IMO, the M4 Mac mini base model is the only fairly priced product announced and that’s only because they are now offering 16gb ram without a price hike

I would've voted Apple's AI BS as bust of the year, but I understand the AirPods Max disappointment. I can't buy AirPods Max until Apple comes out with a 3.5 aux to USB-C cable for it as I use AirPods Max for my editing.

I am a first time Apple product buyer. I will definitely get the Mac mini m4 and am looking at the MacBook options. They added more memory to the MacBook Airs. Looks like a great deal. I have no experience with Apple so please don't be too harsh on me!

The Why of the M4 is easy, you just have to go back to the beginning. The M2 was just coming out of the labs, and was about to be folded into the brand new Vision project. Tim was shown a mock-up, and at the end an engineer said, "and of course it doesn't play games." That started a chain of events. First, a bunch of engineers were allow to find other opportunities at other companies. In retrospect a bad idea, they went to Qualcomm. Anyway, Apple found the problem with graphics was their algorithm. They panicked, and joined the Blender Consortium. In a remarkably short time, and with a boatload of donations, the engineers there found the problem. Apple was very happy, and went back to TSMC where the next version of chip was rolling down the ways. They started work, but so much time had gone by over at Blender that they already had a new chip technology. Apple said, grrrr, but Time decided to wait anyway and shortly afterward the first M4 chip was allllllmost ready then AI started. Tim asked, "Hey can we..." and this time newer and wiser engineers said, "Coming boss!" So, after a year of delays, the M4 was about to roll off and then China went nuts. Six months later, after TSMC had all the self destruct devices planted under the juicy part of the chip lithography machine the M4 processor started rolling off the line.

I agree with part of your take, but probably not in the way that you might think. True, making financial decisions based on the personality of the CEO is not wise. However, making financial decisions based on the trajectory of a company, the soundness of its cumulative decisions, its diversification, and its innovations are more in line with valid predictions of its future. Tesla is more than its EV fleet: it is its charging network (as you mentioned), its advances in robotics with Optimus, its advances in neural-computer interfacing with Neuralink, its advances in satellite based internet connectivity with Starlink, and its advanced rocket propusion program with reusable, self landing rockets with minimal turn-around time at SpaceX. It has made huge innovations in manufacturing and production, it has advanced integration of software with its products (something its competitors lack on a scale that is pitiful). When Tesla announced that it wanted to build a factory in China, the idea was scoffed at. Now, Tesla is making EVs in China at scale and competing with Chinese-brand EVs directly in China! Giga-casting was also scoffed at initially. Now its ability to drastically cut manufacturing cost and time is accepted as fact. Ethernet connections replacing the antiquated wiring harnesses of the 20th Century seems like a no-brainer, but Tesla is the first auto manufacturer to adopt this. And I haven't even mentioned Tesla's over-the-air updates. Tesla's management model says that the right answer is the right answer, no matter its source. Traditional automakers have an antiquated management structure where junior executives are wise to take into account the egos of their superiors when voicing an idea. Tesla has no such aristocracy in place. If a Tesla employee thinks they can neither contribute nor learn from an office meeting, they are encouraged to skip the meeting. "The best part is no part" means keep production simple: ask yourself--is this part really necessary? Elon has stated that advances come from "moving fast and breaking things." In other words, a company has to try different approaches even when things seem to be going well in order to improve. These are all indicators of a company that is earmarked for greatness. I get it: you don't believe in autonomous driving. For the moment, there's no amount of evidence that will convince you otherwise. If you really think the autonomous driving puzzle will never be cracked, or that even if cracked the public won't go for it, then you have to go with your gut. There's no point in telling you where I lean on this question, because it is only an opinion.

I agree with Elon that if this election isn't won, the future of the US is bleak. I'm not even from the US, but I understand the policy game that is being played. Either the US will transition to a post-capitalist economy with extensive robotization, or it will go bankrupt due to the socialist policies being implemented. The US won't be the first or the last country to try socialist policies, believing that they can do it better. However, these policies sacrifices long-term well-being for temporary stability. I hope I'm wrong, but neither Trump nor Kamala seems to like the idea of cutting spending. I think that Elon is the only one interested in cutting the government, and it's now or never. The Problem with Elon is that he is successful and will not be minipulated by the media & the Left. Instead of critizing him how about looking at his accomplishments. Did you see the suucees with SpaceX, how about rescuing the astronauts and landing of the booster, 1st time in history. He is concerned about the National Debt, is that a problem. Sell your Tesla Stock and your Tesla , it is your loss.

These newer Mac’s are so incredible. for music production I have not touched the resources on my M1 Pro no matter how many plugins I add to mixes. Video production overloads ram pretty easy for me.
