Happy North Texas Giving Day! How about some music to celebrate?
This year, The Arts Foundation is thrilled to direct support to The Storehouse of Collin County in their mission to feed, clothe, and care as neighbors in one community. For this year's giving day their theme, Set Our Table, represents community, fellowship, and relationship.
Perhaps the most fitting musical response to the idea of fellowship is Joel Raney's marvelous setting using both the hymn Come, Ye Thankful People, Come and the hymn We Gather Together.
In the final verse of Come, Ye Thankful, we hear how being in community helps us through our difficulties: "gather thou thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin."
