Through It All (Episode 264)
How can we be thankful in the midst everything is going on in the world today? We’ve been through a lot in the last few years and I just want to stop a minute and thank God even for the difficulties many of us have gone through.
One of my favorite songs is Through It All, written by Andre Crouch in 1971 after having purchased an engagement ring for a young woman. He was heart-broken when she announced that she was getting married, but not to him.
He wrote these words: “I thank God for the mountains, and I thank Him for the valleys, I thank Him for the storms He brought me through; for if I’d never had a problem I wouldn’t know that He could solve them…I’d never know what faith in God could do.
“Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God;
“Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.”
Even though it was written 50 years ago, this song seems perfect for today.
We weren’t designed to do life on our own. We need God. So I challenge you this Thanksgiving to think about how going through difficulties has made you stronger and thank God for them.
1 Thess. 5:18 TPT: “And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.”
For more about giving thanks in the midst of both the good and the bad, listen to episode 107-Through It All.

Focus on Jesus, Not Sugar (Episode 263)
มุมมอง 19วันที่ผ่านมา
Episode 263-Focus on Jesus, Not Sugar I’ve been reading and studying Romans 14 for several weeks. I thought when I first read it that it would an easy passage to talk about. I knew it related to my journey but in what way? So I asked Jesus, “What is the message of Romans 14 for my listeners?” And He said, “Focus on Me, not on anything else. Not on sugar, not on food, not on diet laws, not on wh...
Time to Wake Up (Episode 262)
มุมมอง 1814 วันที่ผ่านมา
It’s time for Christians to wake up to what’s going on in the world around us. The time is growing short. We are closer to meeting Jesus now than we were first saved. In Romans 13:11-14 Paul gives a dire warning about the future and describes how we as Christians we are still always one day closer to meeting Him. He tells us how we should live by describing a normal day. First we have to wake u...
Holy Spirit Glow (Episode 261)

Do you want glow with the power of the Holy Spirit? It’s certainly something I desire. This is lesson 20 in our study of the book of Romans. We’ve learned that Romans is all about the foundations of the Christian life, how to follow Jesus, how to renounce our fleshly desires, how to renew our minds and how to transform our lives. Now in the latter part of Romans 12 we learn about serving God. A...

Episode 260-From the Inside Out We can be changed from the inside out. We can renew our minds which will then transform us. Romans 12:2 AMP and in the MSG gives us several keys to consider which we visit in more depth on the podcast. First, to renew our minds we can no longer just go with the flow. We have to ask ourselves, is this really what is best for me or is it just what my flesh wants? S...
Surrender Delights God Episode 259

Why should we surrender to God? Because our surrender delights God. If there is anything we should want to do it is to please God. Surrender also has great value for us on our journeys which also delights God. Romans 12:1 AMP: “Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies, dedicating all of yourselves, set apart, as a living sacrifice, holy and well-...

Episode 258-Listen to God Why don’t we listen to God? The other day I was jogging in the water and pondering what I would share on this podcast. I had been reading Romans 11 for several days but I had decided I was going to go on to do the next podcast on Romans 12 because I understood how it fit into my journey. Still, the last four verses of Romans 11 kept calling me back. It’s a great sectio...

Episode 254- Jesus Loves Me Romans 8:38-39 are some of the most dramatic, poetic and impactful words in scripture. They are so monumental that we sometimes just pass right by them. One of my main goals is to be a victorious Christian. I want to be an overcomer. I want to be able to conquer whatever difficulties come my way. You can probably quote from memory the main verse we’re talking about this week. This is a providential message. Just this morning I was studying in Romans 7 and it’s been like I’ve never read Romans before. The scales are falling from my eyes and I’m starting to realize why I’ve felt/feel powerless over my food addiction. I was 425 lbs and had major weight loss surgery a little over 2 years ago and have lost just over 190 lbs…only to realize they didn’t operate on my brain. I’m just as addicted and mentally obsessed with the food as ever. It didn’t “fix” me. I’ve known, as you did, that eliminating sugar and flour is the answer. But I’ve been trying to do it in my own strength over and over again. Instead of clinging to Christ, I’m clinging to carbs! Thank you for these messages. They are so, so helpful and today was more than coincidental. God bless.

    God ONLY speaks to us through scripture.

    • @TeresaShieldsParker1
      @TeresaShieldsParker1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      God also speaks specifically to us about things we need to do or not do. Think about all the times God spoke to people and told them to do something but they didn't do it and everything fell apart. Or they did do it and they had success. What. He tells us always aligns with scripture. But He gives us specific instructions when we pray about it. Then it's our decision whether we follow Him or not.

      @@TeresaShieldsParker1 In the past God spoke through prophets, kings and apostles. There was covenant imperative or necessity for him to do so and they all heard an audible voice. None of them were led subjectively. Considering God has fulfilled all covenant promises and prophesies and reach his covenant objectives, he has turned over the ministry of reconciliation over to the church and does not communicate to anyone outside of the scripture. If he did what use is there of scripture? And if as you say the instruction he gives always alines with scripture then we don't need anything but scripture. So what test are you going to give to prove your claims? Can you do signs and wonders? What will you do to prove you have any kind of leading other than scripture? You know all cult leaders appeal to subjective leading. How can we differentiate them from you?

I was diagnosed with alopecia cause by inflammation in my body. I am during further testing and seeing a specialist to know more about what is going on. I felt like earlier this year God told me that I needed to change my eating. I tried but had so much anxiety thinking about a future without all the foods that I love. I spoke with my husband about having an addiction and he said that if I admit that I have one I was giving up my power to stop. When we understand what we are doing is thumbing our nose at God and not doing what He wants, then surrender comes as we repent to Him. I teach habit change, not a diet. Amen 🙏. I totally relate to this !!. I go through the same thing. Like u , God has called me to speak publicly and sometimes I don’t because I have believed the lie that When I open my mouth I won’t make sense or I’m afraid of looking stupid 😳. I’ve suffered a lot of rejection, verbal, emotional abuse as a child and as a result I’ve always felt not good enough and not smart enough and I compare myself with others who I feel are prettier, smarter, more articulate than I . God is doing a lot of work in my life however. He is showing me who Iam in His eyes and that I just need to let go and trust Him to empower me to fulfill the call He has placed on my life. I can not do this without Him, I don’t have the power !! As I’m typing this comment, I’m hearing in my spirit, the song, “ I surrender “. I believe God is speaking to me, saying, this is what I need to do. Surrender. Let go and let God work in me. Without Him I can do nothing. Amen 🙏. Btw, I do have ur book, sweet surrender 😀. Awesome read !!!!

      He will give you the words just like He gives us everything! I encourage you to ask the Lord where exactly this fear began. Likely it was in your childhood like you mentioned. Who was involved in the situation? Tell God you choose to forgive them for what they did. Then tell Him I renounce the lie that you Father God (if it was a father figure) or you Holy Spirit if it was a mother figure) will treat me the same way. Then say tk Him, “What is your truth.” This is the key. The furst thing you see, hear or feel will be His answer. Write it down. It’s golden. It’s freeing! If you need help I do one-on-one coaching. It’s not on my website yet but if you want more info email me at teresaparker@icloud.com.

    Amen 🙏. I can relate . Your story is so my story . Glory to God for you ministering to His ppl that are in bondage to the stronghold of food. I was bound by processed foods, sugar for most of my life. I called out to God to set me free and He did after 20 yrs. He led me to a Christ centered healing and recovery program, there God showed me what was at the root of the stronghold which was emotional abuse, rejection. I felt like a weight was lifted !! But I got stuck and thought I had arrived and stopped going to meetings, etc and therefore I didn’t progress in my weight release/ recovery. I’m now back in recovery and getting healthier. I’m thinking your program would help me immensely !!!. I can use what I learn to share with others. And again thanks for allowing God to use u to help set the captives free 🙏.

      Connie Sue, yes listen to the videos, sign up for the sugar addiction quiz and watch for the six emails that come. One comes immediately and then one each day after that for five days. I am also working on a book and a course on this topic. In the meantime, if you haven't read my book Sweet Journey to Transformation, please read that. It will provide a road map for the weight loss journey. Also if you haven't already read Sweet Grace, which is my first book. As soon as my web designer gets it on my website, I will be selling a lot of my warehouse stocks of all my books at discounted prices. It's not quite ready yet, but soon. Or maybe someone could give them to you for Christmas presents. They are on Amazon. Of course my current book, Sweet Surrender would be good to read after those. Surrendering to God is the key. Never give up! You and God can do it.

    Thank you for sharing this message!!! Time for us to Wake Up and run the race in His Freedom and not live in Fear and hiding. May He give us more grace and increase our Faith Hope and Love.

      Yes more grace! From grace, faith, hope and love we take and yet they all remain to take from again!

    Thanks for sharing! I agree that I’ve been keeping “quiet” out of fear. Thanks for the encouragement to Wake Up. I’m getting up, praying for God to help me confess sin, repent as I ask Him for the grace to resist temptation and to hear His will and the faith and strength to trust Him to do His will.
