    I had a 4th Gen GS until it got flooded. its the best daily driver for a car guy. the suspension, insulation, steering feel is better than the German cars of the same size from the past 10 years. I wouldn't stress over much if you drive a GS. Change the oil with any synthetic from Walmart. Parts are cheap. Its literally the most mindless luxury car ownership one can ask for.

    Great video man! Currently in the market for a 2016+ gs350 f sport. Found one near me, a 2017 with ~95,000 miles for $24,777. Test drove it and drives great, engine and other components look good. What do you think about the price and the amount of miles? Do you think it will be reliable or should I keep looking around for a better deal/lower mileage? Thank man, keep it up!

      Ooh if it has all the maint history (check carfax and the lexus owner website), the interior and exterior are in good condition. Tires are good. It is the exact color and spec you want. I'd have no issues paying that much. I'd be okay paying a little more and not having to deal with headaches down the road. The Tacoma also uses the 2GR FKS, and a few people have hit 400k on those for work. I wouldn't sweat 90k miles if it ticked all the boxes above, but only if everything above is good lol.

    I had to put Chevron to shut my fuel pump chirps up. Initially I thought a loose belt tensioner. After digging it the fuel pump making noise despite the recall has been done. I do feed her Texas Buccee's 93 premium no Ethanol gas and so far she seem to be happy. As far as MPG difference between gas brand, I do not notice as much. Because once the right foot is down on the pedal the GSF would drop from 29 highway MPG to 16 MPG. FYI any Toyota part that contains YZZ mean it a lower grade part that made to compete with aftermarket part so it cheaper than original part but still conform to Toyota/Lexus quality requirement. I put original air filter and cabin filter for my GSF. I been used Mobil 1 oil for years in other vehicle, however I notice once switched to Pennzoil the motor seem to rev more freely. If I drove the car more often I would use Asmoil full synthetic, but right now the yearly avg is 2700 miles. Things you did not mentioned in the video as follow. Trying to avoid multiple short trips, rev the car out when engine oil temp not to operating temp. I am not sure your F sport has oil temp read out, but in my GSF it has coolant and engine oil temp read out. Oil change interval is another factor, every 6 months/5000 miles or 12 months/5000 miles if you use synthetic as oiil change cost is cheaper than motor replacement cost. Cabin air filter and engine air filter is due every 12 months/12k miles (I do it every other oil change interval). Replace transmission fluid and rear differential every 60k miles. Engine coolant is every 5 years/60k miles (stick with Toyota pink coolant). Another maint item often over looked is A/C. Every vehicle I owned, I have A/C evacuated and recharge up to factory specs every 5 years. This to avoid lack of lubrication of compressor. Full evac and recharge cost $145 vs system replacement $2500.

    • @EddieGS350
      @EddieGS350 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Man, I'm so jealous you got an oil temp gauge. The GS doesn't even have a sensor that an OBDII scanner can read. Good tip on the A/C!! That one was new to me for sure. What's funny is my family has had really bad luck with cars and A/Cs. I'll look into that for my GS, might be the first car where the A/C doesn't break in the middle of summer.

    The ticking also was related to a vacuum pump, that wasn’t a recall but is covered. The ticking was more dominant during the cold start. My Gs Blackline only has 20k miles on it. The warranty is now over. In discussion with my tech ( not the service writer). He told me don’t waste money on an extended Warranty. He also owns one. I think it’s important to know and take care of the tech if you can. Some dealers have a wall between the writer and the Technician. Writers have some knowledge. Hey Eddie! New subscriber here. I recently bought a 23' IS 350 last month! It was a tough choice between a 20' GS 350 and the new 21+ IS 350s, but went with the IS. Anyways, I saw Lexus made an F-Sport intake filter (Part # PTR0353141AA). Do you think these will be a decent second option since it is OEM? Those will fit my car and i'm sure theres a version for the GS as well. I already bought it and it is arriving tomorrow. I've seen those other videos comparing intake filters, and the graph in your video was in regards to K&N. Only reason I bought it is because it is made by Lexus and that part will fit my intake as well. Interesting you mentioned the ECO mode for climate controls. I never noticed that until now in my car. Going to swap to ECO and see how well that works. Hopefully I dont notice a difference haha. Btw, i've seen a bunch of your videos and from I recall I dont think you have any LED door projector puddle lights. It is a very cheap mod and will project the lexus or fsport logo on the ground when you open the door. Might be something you'd be interested in and possibly even make a vid out of? I recently bought the V3 on lexusacc.com with the Lexus logo, looks just like the OEM lights lexus puts in some of their newer lines.

    • @EddieGS350
      @EddieGS350 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ahhh bro! What's funny is I was about to make a vid on it!!! I was going to compare the F Sport filter vs the OEM and see how good it filters. I backed out cause I was like man, I don't feel like spending $200 on filters. I had the F Sport Intake/Filter on my IS 350, the filter in the vid was the one I had on my IS. When I used Mobil 1 I did start burning a little bit of oil but when I switched to Penz it stopped, so I think the filter worked pretty good. I had my F Sport intake for like 50k miles before i sold my IS. Honestly if you live in an area like florida that has very little dirt/particles. I'd run it no probs. And ahh thanks bro! I've been tempted to get some, I'll look into it!

    • @Richie-m5g
      @Richie-m5g 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@EddieGS350 Thanks for the reply!! Question. Do you think the F sport intake filter was the cause of your car burning a little bit of oil in the IS? Sorry I'm not that smart with how the mechanics of a car works haha Also side note. How are your WELL visors holding up? Have you noticed any fading esp on the chrome part?? Reason why I ask is because I dont have window visors yet, but i've had some in the past on other vehicles and the chrome started peeling and fading it looked horrible after a couple years. The oil discussion comes up a lot with the 2GR and I think it really just comes down to changing your oil often even before it's due + using the same brand every time + not being over/under filled. I started using Castrol GTX which is a conventional oil every 3,000 miles and my 2006 is buttery smooth and burns maybe 0.5q between changes. But lots of people want to use a full synthetic oil so they can wait 5,000mi. Also what you said about Chevron is true, our cars like something about their additive package.

      Ahh man I'll be honest. I didn't add this bit into the vid but I at least want to give honest/complete answers to my subs. It was on my IS 350 that I used Mobil 1. I always swore by it and it served me well. I ran my IS 350 from 50k to about 120k using Mobil 1. However I noticed I would burn half a qt of oil and I'm serious about being able to tell that I needed to change my oil from the sound lol. On cold starts I can hear what sounded like valve noise. I switched to Penz UP at about 130k-150k miles before I was forced to get rid of my IS. Never burned oil and the engine sounded the same no matter when I changed my oil. The GS has gotten Penz ever since I bought it :)

    • @EddieGS350
      @EddieGS350 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yoo Kris, They are still running good. I was recently checking my brakes and the springs aren't leaking at all. I have a theory that if you are super careful on not hitting potholes and speedbumps at high speeds they will last a long time. Got an upcoming vid talking about that! They still feel like they did when I first lowered it. The only thing is bigger bumps do feel cringe. Smaller bumps are handled very well. If you got some really bad roads near you or lots of big bumps. I'd say go for the Teins, I know the AVS ones got the hydraulic bump stopper, which should make the ride more comfortable. I'm actually gonna upgrade to Teins when mine finally do give out. That being said I don't regret being on springs first. I wasn't too sure how I'd like this car being lowered. I didn't want to spend $1k to find out and not like it. That being said, I LOVE IT. For sure my fav mod on the car. It feels like a real sports car now and not some SUV lol. It's such a cool feeling having a bigger car but that is still kinda low to the ground. Also I have no issues w/ any driveways. I can drive around everywhere lol.

    We have 4 cars a 2017 GS350, 2019 Corolla, 2023 Palisade and 2016 BMW 228i. Our BMW is a 2016 driven by our 19yo son who def enjoys it and it has been perfect engine wise over the last 55kmi. Only two wheel sensors replaced, one set of tires with the rear brakes. It will outrun all our Asian cars and still get 25mpg. The engine bay has tons of space for DIY but the use of plastic everywhere is a scary but so far nothing has melted 😱. The Corolla has had one issue in 5 years, plastic hubcaps fell apart, other than that the engine is an absolute gem! The CVT ruins the driving experience even for an economy car. The Palisade is a minivan in SUV clothing, been a great family hauler. My Lexus is all in one- luxury, performance, economical, and Toyota reliability. I previously drove Mercedes S Class which I loved to drive more than Lexus. Mercedes does a better job on interior and paint quality than Lexus but all the German over engineered mechanical items (air suspension, soft close doors, etc) were a PITA to keep going. I enjoy the Lexus more knowing nothing is broken when I drive it- even with the cold start vacuum pump knock!! Great video!
