    Nose gear is very fragile once assembled, so nose weight will be an issue. The rear crew area is too wide once assembled, will need to be cut to make it fit. loads of detail that once all built up, can't be seen.

    You have to bear in mind that this Sword kit is limited run. It has all the hallmarks of Special Hobby, Classic Airframes and Pacific Coast offerings and should definitely not be compared with the one from Airfix. They are two completely different products. One has, near enough, everything done for the modeller, the other one requires thought, experience and skill to assemble properly. Also, do not expect this Gannet from Sword to be available indefinitely. Get them while you can. Their EE Lightning two seaters are case in point.

      Sure, it wasn't really a criticism of the kit/brand just pointing out the same as yourself, that its similar to something like Special Hobby in terms of surface detail. The flash etc is all as expected, I was just a bit disappointed on the detail for the fuselage compared even to the wings of the same kit, which have crisper panel lines. The fuselage lines are quite soft in places. This doesn't have anything to do with being a short run kit, just not very well tooled.

      @Hokonui_Hobby_Room No criticism directed at your review at all. Just making general comment, nothing more. Agree with the points made in your response. I strongly believe this kit, assembled with care, can be made into a beauty and be a perfect partner for the Airfix kit. Good overview.

    Thanks for the review…looking forward to getting mine…my personal opinion is that Airfix dropped the ball…& they over engineer their modern releases. I’m not sure where their R&D team went to gain info on their Gannet release…but the Sword AEW release appears to me to have much more “agency” than their offering.

    • @Hokonui_Hobby_Room
      @Hokonui_Hobby_Room หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dingerbell100 yeah I know what you mean but the detail on the fuselage definitely seems soft, even minus the rivet detail, which I realise can be a personal taste thing when it comes to a scale model. A few soft passes with a scriber will fix the soft/lost detail. Hopefully it builds up well. 👍😁

      @@Hokonui_Hobby_Room True…the Airfix R&D chose their version of the Gannet based upon a Gannet held in storage at the FAA Museum at RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset…& it’s NOT an AEW4…I suspect 🤷‍♂️😉

    • @ianpickering6234
      @ianpickering6234 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The FAA museum has an AEW3 and a COD4. Not sure about an AS4 but the RAN FAA museum has one.

    Really enjoying your videos mate, cheers. Might be a silly question - as I have no experience making dioramas - but I’m wondering about natural material from the garden etc going off? Mould, rot etc. Does this happen? How do you mitigate it? Cheers again.

    • @Hokonui_Hobby_Room
      @Hokonui_Hobby_Room 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@scottiedoesit9480 depends on the material used. Soil will be applied with PVA and sealed, so it's kinda encased. Dried leaves etc have to be sealed to stop them degrading fully. Let them dry out fully, make sure all moisture is gone, kinda like when you dehydrate fruit. It's only the remaining moisture that will cause any kind of rot, mould etc. most I've seen using natural materials always seal and even paint once applied. Hope that helps 👍
