@scottthefunkRedPill it's a indicator yes but I go by touch to be honest I use the indicator to judge the depth of the river, and nice I will be fishing mid Wales soon hopefully looking for places to go as I just moved to llanelli

I use a 10ft 3wt greys fin rod and reel then a 12ft leader and down to 4lb tippet

@@TheWelshflyfisher Just try a stillwater ......you know what's it's like wading in river the force on your leg......not just water pressure but the way you can twist your leg etc......

Thanks David 👌 and yeah mainly a 10ft 3wt rod and occasional 10ft 4wt depending on the river I'm fishing

They are definitely afraid of anything moving on the surface and are also super aware of the outside of the water. So they wouldn’t take if they feel the splash of the fly line or realize a leader dragging the fly if they were caught once already. They are quite fast learners.

Thank you pal and just to let you know my names Ryan haha but yes agree and unfortunately our river do stock brownies but we have over 25 miles of river so its finding where they can't get to is the trick!
