Yes this is my Black Belt at his first Black Belt class after his promotion...the next day...it's a tradition in Kajukenbo and my school has always followed it...yes it is an honor to be part of the kaju group...and they are ready fro it. As you can see he takes it quite well and he was being hit hard. The Black belts have their choice of how hard they hit, so it depends on the student...hope that answers your question...

@TheRiobezerko Hartsell and Inosanto were peers and best friends, they exchanged information and trained together for many decades till Sifu Larry passed. They lived close to each other. I worked trapping and destructions with both of them. Both top level martial artists by anyone's book...the destructions are in a few arts, JKD, but also, Kali...they are a great technique...just not trained by most

My favorite part is when Sifu Esther gives a series of elbow strikes to that guy's back (my apologies, I don't know his name, but I'm sure it was interesting for him!).

Grab art 5 there is a wrist lock then the strike to the lateral deltoid tendon (the base of the shoulder...nasty strike) then the carotid strike, and yes ... the break shows to the wrist, but in a real fight yes it would be an elbow hit to break the olecranon process...the wrist strike is for training at times to prevent injury form being hit on the elbow often....

Grab art 4 has a wrist break with the right hand and a forearm destruction using the left hand, the strike showed is to the sternum but ina fight would be the bridge of the nose then a solar plex punch

Grab art 3 has a double ear slap followed by the hand lock and then strike to the nose exactly...

I have a couple questions Mr.Bono: On Grab Art #2 or #3 (Two-Hand Lapel Grab)are they executing a two-hand ear slap, then a double hand clapsed strike to bridge of nose? On Grab Art # 4 (Two-Hand Lapel Grab) After stiking the bicep, and knife-hand strike to neck. Is it custom to execute a Inward block to the lower wrist as opposed to above the elbow?

We do that also, it depends on the angle you are at

I thought so, myself instead of a punch to the bicep I use a backfist to the bicep.....

@jfjkd1965 Yes this is from Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do partially. Though Kaju uses destructions, this form was adapted form what I learned form my JKD Instructor Sifu Larry Hartsell.

never had the privilege of training directly with Mr. Gaylord, but some of his students were my teachers and likewise i hope my students also benefited from his teachings. i can think of no greater legacy then to know a man's art and passion will be passed on for generations to come in the ultimate sense . to teach a person to protect themselves and their loved ones from harm. my deepest respect.
