I often think oppressive totalitarian regimes fear their subjects owning a handgun like this because they are concealable, lethal, covert, and formidable at close range up close where it gets personal! The subject (not considered a citizen like in the United State, but more like a slave for socialism) packing one of these, perhaps is more scary to the ruling elite than if they had access to a military assault rifle that isn't concealable.
