in windows settings its saying actual res : 1440x992 but signal mode : 1600x1080 (my old stretched res) and when i switch from valorant to another page of windows i get a blackscreen like its not the same res in valorant and in windows

How to create the custom res? I have the options but when creating them it just says that the whatever resolution is not supported by the display. Is it because I am on HDMI and not DP or is it just that my monitor doesn't allow? I've also tried another method where it even should work by using 1440x1080p for laptops and it still doesn't work for me and get black bars
You need to change "Timing display" to your resolution too, so put 1440 1080 in the Resolution AND Timing display

@@LK-md1id It's easier to find tutorials with nvidia cards but I have an amd so I don't really know how

Tested out 1580x1080 and first I had black bars again but needed changing to fill rather then letterbox and it has worked!. Good Video Keep Being Awesomesauce

TYSM this also works as a permanent fix for 4:3 or other unsupported aspect ratios having massive black bars
when i try to set my res to streched in AMD software it tells me "custom res settings are not compatible with this display. reconfigure your settings and try again" can you help?
change the manual thing to cvt when u are making the res

my normal res is 3440x1440. I mean its streched but i have those big black bars on top and bottom. Is that normal?

@@Slxuched thanks for your reply I've been following your steps. Go into Valorant settings and there is no way to fill it. Mine is in mailbox mode. It's locked over there This is what caused my game screen to become wider. Although it’s still full screen, the screen is a little smaller
