Hiya, I never had a problem again after I dealt with it in my nano tank. I would break down the tank and remove as many as possible the same way I did, but if you have a fair few then maybe getting new substrate might be better. Be careful though because they can sting!

Do not put more than one betta in a tank unless you want a bloodbath. And do not ever put angle fish in tiny tanks, they will get stunted and most likely end up dying even quicker. I’m sorry to say but this tank is actually to small even for a betta, bettas in the wild actually live in big rivers and lakes, they just set up their own territory, they need room of 20ltrs (5gals) or more 20ltrs is the absolute smallest you should get. Your actually abusing the fish by putting them in tanks smaller than 20ltrs. Trust me I know

Heya, I found the filter to be a bit cheap and it blocked up very quickly, I was having to rinse my filter floss every week during water changes. And once it was planted and filter/ heater added, it took up a fair bit of swimming space so I removed my betta. Now I use it as a hatching tank for my mystery snails. I take their egg sacs out of their main tank and sit it on top of the filter above the surface and let the eggs hatch in there so they arent in my big tank :)

I think it is maybe too small for a male Betta, a female might be okay but I think the tank is best suited for shrimp or snails. Even a hospital tank for small fish :)
