Take off axles worked for me both machines had visco lok front diff. If other machine had the smart lok axle end on one side I believe is different. You should be able to swap out end shafts from yours to the longer ones

Oh really? We non-Chevy guys from back in the day avoided Chevies because if some teenage hop-head fucked up his car with speed parts or mods, it was almost always a Chevy. It was usually done wrong. The parts were cheap (this intake is the same as an edelbrock and what's port-matching?), etc. Chevies are a nightmare all around, they are so cheap when you work on them they hurt you, punish you for thinking clearly, and have 'dead-ends' in their construction, like true "WTF dude?" on their engineering. Chevies ARE cheap, though, adn the parts are plentiful and cheap, and you can fix what General Motors never built right in the first place. Square bodies were particularly cheap and in that era, as bad as Mopar IMO.

For aux? You can tap into any constant keyed power you can find. Running a switch with fuse and relay is best bet.

Running bad all around lol. Low compression for starters. Bad pressure regulator the list goes on

If it’s clicking first I’d jump across the selinoid see if it spins over. If yes replace it. If no run a jumper wire from battery straight to starter if it doesn’t engage starter is bad or worst case engine seized. Could also check this switch if it has any corrosion damage it may allow just enough juice through to just get a click.

Just going with an aircooled motor will be your cheapest option. Sold my buddy a running one for $300. Plenty of motor swaps but you will have 7-1000 into adaptor plates I’m currently working on a Baja bug with a ford 2.3 turbo.

I’m in South Georgia. That is odd though. Was it converted from swing axle to IRS? I’d check for something that is bent broken or worn. Bad wheel bearing/hub etc.
