Open source does not seem like a competitor as it still requires costly compute. It would be cool for it to use compute of a hashed network of computers sitting around the globe or just wait longer for a response.

It's already taking coding jobs and video editing jobs. As it gets smarter and faster that will only increase. With the video creation it will likely end acting careers across the board. The massive job losses are coming.
Well I hope that doesn’t happen as an overall, my hope and expectation is that it will cut down time to code and make videos. If I mess up on a video maybe I can use AI to fix it as opposed to reshoot. But eventually I can see where it might generate something compelling, it’s certainly interesting to watch this unfold realtime
@@martouf13 don't think that's true. Can you name an example?
Adobe Premier pro has that in beta where you can remove objects using AI. that alone prevents a reshoot in certain cases, I can see this expanding into content aware fill per frame much like we have on photoshop
