I agree, the original is the best. I don't know hat Freidkin was thinking with all those Pazuzu face flashes, spider walk (with an obvious different actor), and all that "I don't want it! - I don't feel anything" 2nd rate acting. All completely unnecessary imo.

They explain it in the show. It has to be a humanoid object. Chucky can only transfer himself into a good guy doll und tifanny only into a bell doll, Im guessing because those were their first vessels. As for why it has to be Andy, he can only transfer himself into the first person he told his name to, dumb rule which was thrown out the window later anyway. As for why he doesnt kill him first, the doll body only turns „human“ after a few days so he cant just transfer himself into a corpse. Hope that clears some things up. :)

Voodoo rules. The doll becomes alive because it never had life but immitated it. If he switched into a stabbed man it wouldn't fix the stab wounds. He would just die again. It's confusing but basically your just transferring yourself into a sinking ship.

I think in part 3, it’s where they tried to include chucky as more of a character instead of just the threat. He has a lot more dialogue in part 3 compared to 1 and 2. They kinda made the Freddy mistake…… they gave us more chucky and forgot about the fear element for the audience
