Wow . The music in bg is soooo annoying
in my most pitiful oliver twist style voice, "may I have some more, sir?" I'm kind of curious now on inputs and if it is possible to switch from 3rd person style to 1st person to VR with ease or will that be tricky to do. Guess i'll find out with switching from 3rd to 1st for now. I have a VR headset ordered but won't be here until friday.
I think this woul be a cool tutorial i can think of something 😃
@TheDevRealm I'm kind of excited to get a vr headset.
@@Nakasasama Yeah VR is cool mand there is so many cool games you can play and you can create some amazin landspace in Unreal .
@TheDevRealm only bummer about vr games is fallout 4. They never made the DLCs into VR, it seems. But as far as landscape in vr. I'm planning to make an earth sized planet in voxel 2 for what I'm looking to make as a game. Not to mention use of pcg. While I am thinking of it, have you toyed with vroid studio? I'm going to use that to make anime characters that can be used in UE. It's kind of a short cut for me until I can make more than just walls and other 3d objects.
@@Nakasasama Yeah looks cool vroid studio i will check out man thanks.
Oh no, I am running out of tutorial. :(... but hey, i've learned more from this than anyplace else. :):):)
very handy info. Thanks and love your desktop 👌🏼
There is a starter_birds01 which makes a sound of birds chirping.
@ 10:28 the numbers are 0.024 - 0.031 but on mine it's 0.011 and 0.012, is that bad? ;-)
Hey there, it means that you have more FPS
@TheDevRealm i guess having 2 rx 6900 aorus waterforce gpus makes a difference.
@@Nakasasama yes a lot 😁
@@Nakasasama yes a lot you basically calling 2 Frames more them the average
@TheDevRealm well, they only cost $450 each.
New here but enamored with the project
Wait recreating Helldivers 2 in UE5??? Huge undertaking
This is a short series of how to create the mechanic when you spawn items in the game using the arrows.
Ahhhh best way to start the last day of my work week. Thanks, Dev Realm!
(Just in case: how to solve Double Print String Problem) It's been a year since this video uploaded, so Realm would got the answer. But for someone who's new with unreal like me, there a solution to handle "Double Print String" Problem. 'On Text Committed Event' calling has 2 conditions: one for commit, but also for losing control. So if you type some text ans press enter, the text box got commit and even lose control. That's double input, results in duplicated call. Solution is to use enum for that event. At the event node you'll see green output, that a enumeration value for them. Our typing behavior makes OnEnter, OnUserLoseFocus (yeh, double...) So append '==' for enum. Then make print string happen only for On Enter value. (not use 'normal =='!!! enum need it's own equation op) I hope this could be a help for someone in the future. Anyway, your video is awesome. I almost gotta drowned in the sea of WBPs if I can't find your lessons... Thanks for your effort and Happy New Year!
I gave up trying to follow this. It's a good tutorial but very messy from an organized point. It did good in the beginning but simple things like starting them as actors when you knew they needed to be pawns etc. Very frustrating from a sanitary coding point of view. Maybe I'm too OCD, I appreciate the videos non-the-less since it did show me a way I can do vehicles. I've already skipped ahead to see how you did inputs and movement but again, had to adapt it on my own to make it work as I intend. Tip for next tutorial, write out EVERYTHING before you make the video. ABC simplify it. Making components and then adding things as necessary gets very overwhelming. I think most people want to see the BIG picture before so as you piece the little things together it starts to make sense (it also makes you look like a genius this way!). Much love, and thank you again, sincerely.
Thanks for the feedback 😃 🤟
Its amazing work, How we can support your efforts. I want pay, Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback 🤟, in the beginning of the year I will release Thedevrealm platform where is going to make easy to build a community and bring you guys quality tutorial from beginning to finish, we have a new MMO tutorial in the works really cool 🤟
the music is waaaay too distracting.
Thanks for the feedback I will rebuild this series in the future with a more professional approach 🤟
its only distracting because its baller! makes me want to dance! - but yeah musics not required.
New series? Hell(divers) yeah!
dude thanks for the video but please stop the background music... it's so annoying and we can't focus on your talk :p
Thanks man, on my recent videos I have tuned down but thanks for the feedback 🤟
Are you gona add ai to fight and gather system
Hey there, the gather system is already a part of the tutorial now the fighting system in the future I can go back to this series but at the moment I am working on other projects but I appreciate the request 🤟
Sick 🎉
this helped me a lot

How to add administrator and regular user access to a chat?
Hey there this tutorial is more about clients to clients, if you want to add administrator and things like that we need a server where all this data get collected and you can manage, basically this tutorial is more for games like survival coop where you want to interact with your friends.
In addition to setting "RTF RGBA8 SRGB" and the Target Gamma to 0 as @SykoSilver mentioned, you should also add a "Always Persist Rendering State" node after you turn off "Capture Every Frame" and "Capture On Movement". This will make your screenshots look identical to your in-game renders.
Woooo! New Top-down survival!
It's a great day when you start it off with a new episode from someone who seems like they enjoy what they are making. Keep up the great work ❤
Babe wake up - new top-down survival just dropped
im just passing to apreciate your work and effort put in this tutorials man, its just a few devs who are making stategy like tutorials, and since im trying to make an rts you have been sooo helfull, i cant see all the vids you have rigth now but im defenetly planning on doing it as soon as my work lets me. Keep up the good work man, love from Spain <3
Thanks for the feedback 🤟 is nice to see that those videos and tutorials are being use and being helpful for the community.
Audio is always so much fun to play with! It makes the game feel so much more alive.
Hey, there have a person who likes a lot your videos, please continue 😊
And ... are you brazilian? Becouse you accent looks like
@@wilkerwalace Thank you man i appreciated and yes i from Brazil 🤓, i hope you are enjoying all the videos

For those confused about API_DisplayActorInfo. You right-click and make a custom Event and name it API_DisplayActorInfo. That part is not mentioned in the video.
What are you camera angle settings ?
Hey there, I am using a 45-degree angle camera.
Can't wait for next episode 💯🔥 Nice work 👏🏼
Hi! The video just skipped to another part at about 15:10
Thanks for letting me know i will adjust
Hi sorry for the late reply, that was intended is because i decided to use another approach to implement that feature.
This is a really great tutorial😮 Please continue your awesome work❤
David Bowie - Absolute beginners ✨👏🏻
Yes this was for people who know how to use UE5.
Yes if you know how to use or have a similar it will help a lot 👍, but I give people a starting point so we can all learn together, fun fact that was my first time doing a similar project I hope this project helps other developers with their quest to learn game development.
Your tutorial is great, deserves way more likes, Now I will try to make my own system, I will follow aprt of your logic and try to implement on C++ instead of Blueprints. do you have a discord server by chance, I'd like to ask your opinion on the system I'm making like, is this actor socket, is better or lighter than use skeletal meshes for parts , and bones to attack the components ? Any idea on How can I create a symmetry plane to place the components ?
Hey there, thank you very much for your feedback, for the skeletal mesh vs sockets I prefer to use sockets as long your models have the same size but you can also adjust on the fly, here is the discord server discord.gg/X5YS4KHK
Hey awesome tutorial series so far i am stuck on the part where the API_ChangeHair for example even when replacing it for the test on the event begin play as you do in the character bp , in 5.4.4 the skeletal mesh isnt changing out. Any idea if this is a 5.4 issue?
Hey there thanks for letting me know I will update the asset and have a look 🤟
@@TheDevRealm found the Issue, you have to check the disable post process blueprint on the top part of your custom meshes under the main Mesh (Hidden Manny in my case) I am using metahumans and custom clothing. If you dont disable the post process blueprint for some reason the mesh changes wont work. trying to figure out why. But disabling it resolved the issue.
@@TomEagles I am not sure why is that error but really great that you found out the reason.
thanks for your work, its impressive!
Thanks a lot!
This is great, keep it up! <3
Thank you very much 🤙
I love how you save and load things, looks so much easier now. Hopefully i get my project to save/load..
thanks for the tutorials. but "15 unavailable videos are hidden". how can I gain access to those? thanks
Hi there, thank you very much for the feedback i hope you are enjoying the series, now unfortunately the channel is not monetized yet so I can't have extra content for members but at the moment the videos are released every Saturday and very soon we are planning to release a Course platform where all the videos will be available also will include game-assets, UI design and more.
how to start from nothing? i think that will be more encouraging!
Yeah absolutely but this way is more to the point, if we started from nothing would be just creating folders nothing super exciting.
Is there a way to take the screenshot and save it within the .sav file?
Hey there you can't save the image as a object unfortunately using the .sav, but you can save the image file location.
@@TheDevRealm Thanks. Slowly learned this lesson today! lol. I did manage to save the png thanks to your video. Then I loaded a thumbnail png back into a Texture 2D then assigned that to a brush in an image within my HUD.
How would I change the slot name to accept an array?
Hi there you would have to create a new strucutre where you have the save object with only names, so when you save you would create a new save game name and store in the save game object.
Hey, Realm, actually pretty interesting series, hope you will come back to them If you still interested in making RTS series, i would like to see how to make RTS widget, like in starcraft / warcraft: - depending on the selected unit, displays its stats and active buttons - If another unit is selected, it has other buttons - If several units are selected, Array of their thumbnails is displayed - and how to make different units have different skills that are bound to the same buttons There is a bunch of RTS tutorials on youtube, but none of them have this information, so it would be cool if there were tutorials dedicated to this topic Your channel is a treasure, it definitely deserves more views and subscribers
Found this series a little late, Great work! Thanks for the awesome tutorial.
Thank you very much 🎮
All right, save n load! I've been looking forward to this one through whole series! It was my worst obstacle last time I tried something like modular vehicles on my own.
Glad I could help!
Be careful in these tutorials to keep saving and compiling things as you go. Crashed my unreal a couple of times. How did i crash it? In the step where you convert the variable to an array, if i linked it with the component before and then converted it to an array, my unreal would just hang forever . Converting the variable to an array before joining seems to help with this. I am using 16gb ram, rtx 4060 and i7 laptop for development
Pull out all six sockets and arrange them in a tidy stack. Pull a pin from any one of them and find "Make Array". Click "Add Pin" until you have six pins, hook them all in. Now that you have an array of the correct object, pull a pin from the Array icon on the Make Array Node and find "For Each Loop". From there you can bring out the two API calls Use Array Element for the sockets, and now you don't have to do anything six times. drive.google.com/file/d/1TOvpnjw1oYcfI_PD1qsivEiGR6JhsjqR/view?usp=drive_link When the for each loop is executed, it does so for "Index 0". It will do all the nodes for the object slotted at index 0, and when it reaches the end of those nodes, the logic returns to thr For Each Loop node and increments its index by 1 and repeats all the steps with the object at index 1. This loop continues repeating and incrementing until it runs out of indexes and then executes from the "Complete" pin. There is another form called "For Each Loop With Break", which can terminate itself early if a condition is met within the looped logic.
