We took the trip down to Lebanon PA for the Beast of the East. We were test puller and ended up last out of 18. I could have dropped but wasn't comfortable pushing the new engine since we're still trying to figure out the data logger. The track really came around after about 5 trucks.

On board the weight rack for Used and Abused at the Addison County Benefit pull with Shootout Productions! We had a bit of a rough pass and ended up 7th place in the Limited Pro Stock diesel pickup class. Also notice I forgot to put the pins in the water box lid so the camera got a little wet!

@danielborzone8009 we dont run it long enough to get hot, it makes only one pass and we do not allow it to run or idle before making the pass. If we have to make a second pass, it is usually ok but that is about all you can run it.

What’s the advantage of a hand throttle?
Much better control over the throttle, it gives you a better feel than doing it with your foot
When the truck starts to bounce, your foot would end up bouncing on & off the throttle. that would lose grip.

Massachusetts has some of the stupidest fucking laws. How can this be legal but if there's a small air leak in my catalytic converter I'm not allowed to drive my car?
What is the black knob you use when starting also what is the button on the throttle
The knob I pull on is the fuel shutoff. I have to start cranking the engine with the fuel off and gradually turn it on until it starts. Otherwise the injection pump defaults to full fuel and the engine can hydrolock. The button on the throttle is to turn my air to water intercooler pumps on. I usually turn them on around 3000 rpm
Well, I just watched this three times back to back. Your pull with the on board camera relays the excitement and adrenaline you're feeling and going through. I'd love to do this but at 62 I don't know. Love seeing your partner running up to help. Thanks for this and yes I realize it's an older video but I just loved it and the functionality of your truck. What are the switches on the dash? Looks like one of them switches from foot pedal to hand throttle.
When this video was taken there were four switches, one for the electric over hydraulic power steering, one for the oil cooler fan, and two for the air to water intercooler pumps. The throttle is mechanical so no switches there. If you watch my newer videos that I posted within the past week, you will see that I have moved the air-to-water switches to a push button on the throttle lever

Took me a little bit to get used to the hand throttle. When you can get in Tune with the pump I find it much more accurate than a foot feed. Pull on Brotha!

Correct, the hand throttle gives us better control over the injection pump. Unfortunately this run was a bust anyways, Haha.

That's awesome. I always go to Walton for that pull, but usually Tractors and Rigs. Be nice for them to run pickups.

David Jacobs one more question, sorry lol. im sure it depends on the track and type of dirt, but which gear do you regularly use for pulling?
I use 4th gear in the NV4500. Its the strongest gear in that transmission. Sorry it took so long to reply!
