Swaziland & Gold Reef City - Southern Africa Tour 1997 98 pt1
This is the journey to South Africa via Paris, then the following day a trip to Swaziland, now called Eswatini. It was a business trip for our host and mostly a drive day for us. However, we did spend a couple of hours in a Hotel waiting for Deon to return.

I, Alastair, took my mother, Mary, on a tour of Southern Africa a few months after she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. It was to be, and it turned out to be, the holiday of a lifetime. Now, some 27 years later, I realised three things. 1. Other family members might want to see this. 2. My memory is fading, and I need something to help me remember this great time. 3. People in general might want to see what South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland looked like back in the 90's

Yep, I do wonder as well. I was utterly convinced these things are staged. BUT, this one really did look real. Kyle was genuinely blown away at being called up and....Brandon smiled when he realised Kyle really could play well. As for the disasters, and they must happen, I really don't know where those videos are. i have three more gigs this year, I will try to capture things like this happening and maybe one will be a dud!

Happens occasionally someone goes up and has never played drums in their life. And occasionally get someone who's a beginner and shouldn't even have tried. Most people nowadays know what they're doing and have seen this special concert version before (with the pauses at the end) but still Vanucci will usually give them encouragement. This guy played one of the best versions I've seen so far, didn't need any help at all.
