Took it apart thankfully there was no vertical play in the crank, the cylinder was honed out and had a couple chunks of sleeve missing on the intake and exhaust ports I'm guessing the previous owner put a stock bore piston in there had 170 psi for compression and the pistion looked very new no carbon build up yet but was pretty scuffed up It's a 2003 yz 250 Update Got the cylinder redone it and...
No muffler* you have the headers that's the 4 pipes

Ran fine but was very rich. I downloaded a tune to my power commander for an aftermarket exhaust, and it ran perfect but no more flames

Not necessarily but, a bad booster will have it way down on power because of the vacuum leak they typically give off when bad.

After I put a wiseco piston in my yz250 it slapped like hell identical to this one in video. I just ordered an oem piston of largest diameter hoping it will fix it. Also some people confuse this as detonation from not enough knock protection in the fuel. Not the case.
Did you put another top end yet? I just put a new top end aswell an hear it was thinking bad power valve but on another video the guy said it end up being his crank bearings but i put the scope on it an herd it in top end 🤔 im puzzeled lol
this is how the general public does a top end! measuring with hope! funny! take it to a shop or part it out or throw it away.

@@i.jackanov7382 or; you could have said; bud, but a manual, check that the cylinder is in spec using a bore gauge or at the least try snap gauges along with a dial caliper, then match your piston size determined by the bore size; and check the ring end gap and adjust to spec before assembly. All the info is in the manual friend. It’s highly important he follow the manual specs. When finished take a squish measurement to make sure you have a proper thickness base gasket.
My 125 has a little clatter but no where NEAR as bad. Mines also a little low on compression so I’ll rebuild it one day
It sounds like a card in a bike tire. At least mine isnt clapped yet.

I see alot of people saying its fin hell no its gonna make a little chatter but nit that loud. Check your rod bearing and crank bearings.
I shattered a piston in my 01 cr250. Skirt flew out exhaust, piece went in the bottom. Never got it out😂 threw a new piston in and she ripped. Broke a ring on that piston so I did top end again. Getting piston slap and power loss again. I'll get another piston, throw it in, a new set of reeds, and she'll rip again. I've never rode a 250 2 stroke (new or old) that rips like this bike does. Good ol' screamin eagle
Is it possible to get it out as my bike has a awful rattle as if a piece of metal is in there any ideas ?

@@topmodstv3682 thanks for the info appreciate it been doing so much research I was running with very little 2 stroke in there and it wasn't getting any power then there was a rattle inside the engine but it comes and goes .
@@evandunnell5069 mixing your fuel right is crucial. If you ran it without mixing there's a chance the connecting rod bearing is bad, broken piston ring, scored cylinder walls, a lot of things. I reccomend a top and bottom end rebuild

Piston slap sir. It will break the piston skirt if you do not rebuild or change it. My yz250 done that exactly.

In the vid it sounds like his idle is to low and it sounds like its really trying to stay on id turn up the idle
The piston is either worn or the wrong size which causes it to slap back in forth in the bore. All it needs is a new, correctly sized piston
@@Nickk.amador mines doing the same noise and it's idling real low and stalls if I don't keep reves up.. The noise isn't as aloud tho, how do you adjust the idle? Turn the little screw on the carby left or right?
wogboy4708 to the right that’s how I do mine left to lower the idle and right to make my idle higher
Crank bearings are out plus yz are loud too just FYI bearings are no good time split it open

My ktm did this but I didn't realize what it was before it was too late. My piston busted and rings ceased and my cylinder has a little groove in it

You don't hone Nikasil cylinders. Whoever did that, ruined it.

I have piston slap on mine but it's only when I rev it and it won't hit the powerband please help
Carson Brown install a wiseco top end kit, or pay someone to do it. it should only be about 100 bucks if you do it yourself, maybe 300 if you pay someone.
I have already Wiseco...and it slap when it's warm....no noise when it's cold! only warm maker noise...slap...:| try with OEM!
DO NOT GO WITH WISECO, every wiseco piston and seals ive used went to garbage in a short amount of time. They are way to exspesive and not worth it

No you do not need a rebuild. This is the same exact sound I had when the ideal was low
Thank you I took it apart and it has the slightest play in the cylinder measured it its .8 of a mm over standard bore from the last owner I could leave it but I only have 175psi for compression so I'm going to bore it out more or just have it plated back to std bore depending on price, I will have a after rebuild video too.
my bike also sounds like this i just noticed, its cause of the low idle???
+3BONE,NiGHTMARE,CRA$H yes it's probably fine low idle you can hear the bottom end more and it sounds scary, but if you rev it a bit and the bottom end sound gets louder as you rev you need something replaced/redone
