EVO X TRANSMISSION REMOVAL TUTORIAL
Removing the trans in my 2013 Evo X GSR. My act HDSS failed after 2,000 miles due to launching so it’s time to upgrade.

Is it actually necessary to remove the whole subframe?
It makes it 1000% times easier and it’s easy to do, Doing it without removing it is pretty close to impossible
Absolutely CANNOT get the monoloc collar off of the throw out bearing. Any tips???
Try from the bottom access hole on the bottom of the trans with your screwdriver, with another guy up top to hold the clutch fork, that eventually got it for me with the extra leverage

Probably depends what and who you’re racing in fifth gear. If you have enough boost/power you might not need fifth unless you just need it to change gear and cruise. I’ve raced in fifth and haven’t lost..yet 😅 they weren’t high powered cars but it did the job 🙂 Maybe different for everyone 🤷♂️

I believe the MR also has double plated brakes as well. I prefer the GSR though the feeling of having a connection to the car when you shift is a mechanical feature you can’t get with a SST in my opinion. Just my two cents 😅🙃
