Always good to see Rialto songs being played!
Good video and sound. I was there, not too far from where you must have been standing. I really like the new album, but hearing the new songs live left me disappointed. And I see the problem- for most of them, Mark has picked up bass, so they lack the rhythm guitar, the walls of noise. Take ‘I came to see the wreck’. By far the best song on the album, but live it just doesn’t sound right. Mark doesn’t need to pick up bass- I certainly couldn’t hear it. Steve’s superb dub heavy bouncing bass line carries the song. It needs Mark to pick up his rhythm and, between him and Andy, give us the crashing walls of noise and distortion that’s on the record. And thrash it loud. If they did that, we would have the new ‘Dreams burn down’ which we all love. I say that because what I found interesting about last nights gig is everyone was there to hear the old songs. I wanted to hear those but I was there more for the new songs. The audience became louder and pushing further forward from Taste onwards. I heard a few people saying “this is when it gets good” or “they’re now gonna play the classics”. And, admittedly, they were right. It was the old ones which were amazing (although ‘Twisterella’ no longer does it for me). The old songs were the strongest I’ve heard Ride play in years. Andy absolutely thrashed it with ‘Cool your boots’. It sounded like it did back in ‘92. It was brilliant and probably the gig highlight for me. ‘Dreams burn down’ another highlight. I was hoping they would add ‘Decay’ and new song ‘Midnight Rider’ Guys: rethink your new songs live. How to capture the walls of noise that make new songs like ‘wreck’ and ‘Light in a Quiet Room’ brilliant on record.
Totally agree with you . I honestly wanted to hear all the new songs.
Nice video!
@@TravisBickle1963 Cheers Good memories of being on tour . I can't believe that was 15 years ago.
great guitar⚡️✨❤️🔥
no one better than my Irish cousins !
Thank You!
❤
That quality
Cheers sorry for the crackling 🤣.
That was a great gig! I feel like one of us is stalking the other cos Brassneck is my user name on a couple of things and we end up at the same gigs, plus I used to live in surbiton so I wasn't far from the domino telephone boxes in Kingston...
@@stephenhowlett5532 I'm in Putney 😃🤣 I've been Brassneck on twitter since 2008.
@@brassneckweddoes ok you're the original then 😂 I think it was 2021 I adopted it on Discord and a dumb game called puzzles and survival
@@stephenhowlett5532 Back in the day somebody offered to buy my handle 🤣. I still get tweets about Brassneck beer.
@@stephenhowlett5532 Mine is because of The Wedding Present 🤣😎.
@@brassneckweddoesyeah likewise, that was pretty obvious! I think this version of Take Me might be the best thing ever recorded though: th-cam.com/video/YCtwGFOZzOU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oFkR3PdxtwUCxRKg

Love them both ...❤❤❤❤ Where???? We are on james on Thessaloniki on September
@@jimmmyts Bedford festival
I wish the crowd would shut the f*** up
Why? that's what the crowd has come for , that's what festival's are for , and that's what the artists love, feel a bit sad of your comment 😢
@@AnneTerry-jb7mp they are ruining the music. I wouldn't pay to hear those dipshits ruining the songs, let the artist sing the song. That's what the ticket is for. Not drunken assholes incoherently yelling offkey lyrics
all of you americans, make sure to see james and johnny marr on tour this autumn!
Got my tickets
marr is boring , hes getting away with it
Will do!!
jonny marr great guiter and james

@@gaynorford3602 Absolutely fantastic x
Thanks a lot for the clip

Saw James twice in one week a while back and what a fab band. He has improved with age as when the band were on top of the Pops decades ago he had zero stage presence. NOW just the best..
You obviously haven't followed James for a long long time then .1 of the best bands of all times 👍
Omg they all look like they're having the time of their lives ❤
