There are trade-offs to everything. If you installed an HRV (as you mentioned in a response to another comment) yes it might be a little less maintenance but you will still have to filter the incoming air somehow. The main benefit of the ERV you installed is that it is much more efficient than an HRV especially in a humid climate like you have in Georgia. I feel like you covered a lot of cons (cost, install effort, maintenance) but you didn't mention the reason it's there- to supply fresh, filtered, and TREATED air to your home. They are pretty incredible if you think about it. Just my opinion, but the filter did not look that gross. It just looked like a filter that had done it's job. A screen on the intake would probably eliminate most of that large particulate and let the interior filter take care of the smaller debris. It's a fair opinion but I think it's slightly misleading as the ERV seems to be doing it's job.

I can’t believe that spray foam insulation is even LEGAL! The enormity of the fire hazard cannot be put into words! Code enforcement should NEVER allow this type of insulation. Any small fire would send that house up like a napalm bomb. That type of insulation is not just dangerous.., it should be outright banned..,

I'm a civil engineer. you're problem is the "Air-Tightness" in your house is below 5m³/hr/m² at 50 pascals. I can tell you that this is the type of problems you have when you build your house without consulting a civil engineer or an architect! contractors maybe can build stuff but they have absolutely no idea what they are doing! that aslo can effect the amount of oxygen indoor, which can lead to bad health conditions specially for kids. there's no problem in using spray foam if you use it right. what you need to do now is get an Air-Tightness test, and if it's very low consult with a civil engineer or architect to give you the best/cheapest solution for that, based on your house interior division design

If it reduces the outside noise like he says it does ,then that alone is already a great reason to spray fpam

Even with a backdraft damper, is it a problem to install the dehumidifier supply into your main duct supply when the blower turns on since the blower is over 1000 CFM and the dehumidifier is 200 CFM and the air flow is in opposite directions?

"seal it tight, vent it right." But really I'd probably only go for spray foam if I was in a place with moderate hurricane risk. It's no ICF, but you have a much better chance at withstanding major sheer loads than a typical stick frame.

Fabric is only good if you live in dry area or are planning on concrete driveway. Wet, clay area will always need maintenance and the fabric makes it harder to maintain.

Why did the ventilation fan in my house suddenly stop? I set the timer for an hour, but it only worked for a few minutes and then suddenly stopped. I tried it many times and it was the same every time. What is the reason?

Not a spray foam problem. Poor planning and no allowance for air intake. Also shouldn’t use open cell in basement below grade walls. I could say more but I won’t. All my houses are spray foam and zero problems. Oh. I’m also an insulation contractor

Get a "fresh air exchange ", extend your chimney. Add a real cold air intake to your hearth on the fire place. Get a dehumidifier on your furnace

That's Alot of Dirt/Dust. Alternatively, you can install the Filter at the Intake Port. That way It Filters Everything at the Source and Nothing even Makes it in to the Unit. That's what I did, My Core is Super Protected and Clean.

Hi, are you Exhausting/Supplying to More than One Location in your House? If so, I'm using the Independent Install Setup. When Exhausting/Supplying from/to more than One Area/Room/Locations, How do you maintain Suction/Supply Air? I Have noticed a Significant drop in Air Suction from Exhaust and Decrease in Supply Air when I "Tee" in to more than One Area. The 6in Ducts drastically drops the air movement after I "Tee" Off into Any Location. How do You Overcome this?

So, with the Tee, you are sending DeHumidified air back into the HVAC (return) AND back into the house for recirculation?

Some companies will charge more however they have office space they answer the phone right away. They have direct contact with warranties from the different manufacturer such as heaters filters pumps the pool company we used as a three-year warranty on everything and we can call them or email them and they get right back to us if we’ve had any problems especially with the darn LED lights that go out because they’re poorly manufactured. It’s not the fault, you might get a cheaper price but what kind of support do you get after your pools built?$

maybe you should have replaced the axle shaft seal and wheel hub bearing assembly as well? I have a 2011 GMC Terrain with almost 123,000 miles so I will be changing out both sides and maybe disc brake pads as well.

I have a SA 324 and had part of the lower hood replaced last year. The upper hood near fuel filler cracked. I love the tractor but hate this plastic hood. My dealer is about an hour away and will fix it at my place.

All concrete will crack with a liner pool. It has no rebar to prevent cracking and may have cold joints. It’s just a base for a liner, nothing more.

That is your secondary drain ,which the plastic is part of the pan to put the water level higher which makes it the secondary

Tips for people looking for Basic pools. Exotic pools in weird locations will always cost an arm and leg. Shop around figure out what kind of pool and specs you want for your pool. Call every pool company in your area once you’re sold on an exact spec and pool type go back around and ask for the price for that with a breakdown of electrical, plumbing, digging, permits etc. Once you have that information you’ve probably weaved out the terrible pool makers who are asking for an arm and a leg. Call your local inspectors office and ask what the permits for a pool are for the specific kind of pool you’re putting in. As this video says if it’s a GC hiring all the work I’d call excavator companies, electricians, concrete, crane lift (depends on your pool) and get prices for everything. This will show you how much of a “profit” the GC is taking. If the GC is making 30+ % profit begin doing the work yourself. Personally I’d have the GC do the plumbing and digging and edges of the pool no matter what. This will ensure your pool warranty is good. I’d hire hardscaping company to then come in and pave the patio you want (concrete always looks crappy and cost more and is messier)

When it comes to Sprayfoam you can’t be cheap on the HVAC system. Not enough fresh air. Sounds like your hvac guy didn’t know what he is doing.
