Absolutely! Both are likely the most upgradeable RC systems you can buy. The only limitation is your time and money. The VXL adds many upgrades over the BL-2S so if the price difference isn't much, I would suggest getting that.

No doubt it will take a lot to have confidence in it's use particularly in busy or tight spaces! The 360 view and all the sensors helps with that as well as allows you to easily do it manually too.

I believe it's the typical 7.2V. Good luck!

Thanks! I used my Samsung Ultra phone and I use the Gopro 7 for the in car video with GPS speed readings.

Thanks! I've since painted a couple other bodies and now I know that those hardware store special plastic paints are nowhere near as durable - adherence quality, as the Tamiya paints I used on this which has hardly flaked off!

At the rate I'm going, I may have to pickup more . . . 😉 I do want to get a small backyard flyer too. Something in that class.

Which one did you get and have you flown it yet?

Starting at 7:40, I show where all the lights go to the distribution board located on top of the top of the body. From there those lines go to the former controller board in the original New Bright RC. Instead I reroute those wires to the DumboRC X6DC (G) shown in 7:50. Did you want me to show the lines from the distribution board to the X6DC?

@@lesdmess845 yeah, I need help with finding out what wire corresponds to what function coming out of the distribution board. The PCB just has Chinese lettering on it next to each solder pad. I'm likely going to try and use a standalone light kit controller and wire it into the stock kraton receiver.

@@NachiRS2000 In my Community page, I posted a pic of the plug from the New Bright RC Forza Motorsport Cadillac V Series R light distribution that plugs into their board. I've identified the pinout. So you put + side to the bottom labeled +6V and if you ground "R Turn" the right turn light will turn on. Hope that helps.

Only from YT and talking to a couple of well experienced RC flyers

By all accounts, I not only managed to acquire the two best newbie flyers, but I got them used at great prices with insights from the previous owners. BTW, you can find many experienced flyers on YT that still experience flight failures. I've also talked to experienced owners that confirms this.

Real world simulation for me 😉 I didn't think those gyros helped takeoffs as I was under the impression that's the easiest portion! Will have to rethink that! I admit I've never flown an rc plane or simulator and bought this used cheap ($45) to try. I will have to buy a more expensive one with gyro for my next. Just like when I first bought a cheap drone then a DJI next!

Since the Flitetest article states this pushes the plane to the left but my plane went right must mean something else? This was a super cheap used rc ($45) so a new more expensive one should do the trick 😉

But not with this one as the rudder and elevator are gone. Still have all the electronics and remote though!

Never tried it. It automatically stops once it's right side up so it must know the orientation.

The BL-2S extreme heavy duty drive would've been great if it fit the older Slash but it does not. The BL-2S ESC & motor is perfect replacement for the older brushed system.

I have the Summit which I understand shares these parts with the E-Revo and I was breaking CVDs and diffs. I'll accept the blame since I overpowered it 😆 I have since made it a crawler and it is great at it!

I'm sure the next attempt will be just as good 😅🤣😂

Intentionally for my conditions. Still slightly faster then BL-2S out the box at 2S. Faster yet at 3 & 4S.

In first case, I upgraded the stock ESC to a 3S capable brushed ESC. In the second case - Arrma Vendetta chassis, I used a 2-6S capable brushless system.

That's exactly what I did although the system I installed goes from 2 - 6S Link in the video.

The original electronics does have sound but I haven't looked into driving it. There are audio boards with various sounds available that plug into the receiver . . .

It's going to be a fine line between enough or too much speed . . . 😆

Apparently a sales advantage as Traxxas added this feature into the new Rustler 4X4.
