Years back rescued a young seagull, was not injured but clearly could not fly yet. Got it into a zipped up bag with just it's head poking out kept it for about a week (you have never seen a plate of sardines devoured so fast) before we got it to a proper rescue centre. Two weeks later we got a call that he (I think) was ready to be released . Watching it soar away was truly joyful. Yes it nipped me a few times too.
